Publisher's summary

The race to claim the Worldbranch Throne has begun.

Now the site of EBO’s first completed Red Cathedral, the Onyx Delta has become the center of the virtual world, and the entire player base is descending on Ned’s city to try their hand at the fearsome new raid and reap the game-changing rewards within.

At the same time, a powerful, menacing guild is running roughshod over the western continents, razing every city in their wake and winning Frank’s obnoxiously loud approval from afar. But Ned knows that it’s only a matter of time before their forces sail east to the delta and attempt to burn down everything he’s built.

There will be blood...again, but more this time.

There will also be substantially more cats.

It’s a blend of sci-fi and fantasy, depending on how it comes to be that our main character ends up living inside a virtual reality. the point of LitRPG is not how we get there, but that we get to be in this virtual reality period, living life as a badass video-game character. this one is kind of slow

I loved the voice actors but the pacing was dreadful I sat the book down for months before finally coming back to finish it

Bringing out the nerd in me

The esoteric references are fantastic. Makes me remember why I love the nerdy things in life. The story is a bit predictable, but it's fine for this feel good series.

awesome!

Funk master Frank is at it again along with his gapped tooth and raven flinging friends! This book is even better than the first two and i can’t wait for the 4th.
The narrators performance is spot on also. He breathes life into the character.

Always a good end

For me just a little to much RPG recap. I’m not a gamer so it can get a bit redundant.

Continued greatness.

Not much else to say. Continues to improve on the formula for success started in book 2. Jargon kept down (and a very cleverly written tier set bonus enables this even more). Just the right mix of foreshadowing and payoff. New characters add a lot of spice, and the old ones are developed in interesting ways.

EBO's actual story (and particularly the story of The Huntman's raid) are quiet bits of fantastic storytelling. What could make a genuinely fantastic story on it's own is simply another link in the chain that Ned and co get to deal with.
