About this listen

Book 3 of Guardian of Aster Fall.

The Moonlight Relic sits high atop the Western Reaches, an ancient fortress against invasion from beyond. An age ago, its enchantments were designed to stabilize the dimensions and defend those who lived there, as well as to be a model for other relics of the same type. Not long after it was built, it was shattered in a cataclysmic war.

Sam has inherited the only key to the relic that exists on Aster Fall. Now, he has to repair it before the Outsiders who destroyed it return. He also has to make Highfold safe for his family while threats rise on every side, including those that have nothing to do with Outsiders.

Primordial enchantments, crafting, and battles await in the third volume of the epic series!

great world building and a cool story arc

I like twists and turns I stories with this much detail in building (think red wedding). not really that type of book but I think the set up is there for some truly devious enemies

Fun

This was a fun continuation of the story. There was character growth, world expansion, and a steady flow. I’m already two books further in on the set while I write this so I’ve jumbled events in my head, but I throughly enjoyed listening to this book.

Pretty good

I like the concepts. It has stats but it’s not crunchy or annoyingly repetitive. I only have two complaints. The first is the stupid plot amor of the bad guys. The second is the big choices. What I mean by that is the MC thinks “I need X” when he has a choice to get X, he says that’s a bad choice and it’s not right. Decides to go with another choice that makes far less sense given all the circumstances and information and then somehow the choice that any rational person wouldn’t chose becomes OP because some random tidbit happens and the MC’s choice was PERFECT. This happened multiple times in the first book and this one.

Wow! Wow! Wow!

Wow! Wow! Wow! I just finished listening to Moonlight Relic: Guardian of Aster Fall, Book 3 and I am speechless! This is the best book in the series so far, and I can't wait for the next one!

David North has done it again, creating a captivating and thrilling story that kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. The world of Aster Fall is rich and immersive, full of magic, mystery, and danger. The characters are complex and relatable, each with their own struggles and goals. The plot is fast-paced and unpredictable, with twists and turns that left me gasping.

The narration by John Pirhalla and Stephanie Nemeth-Parker is superb, bringing the story to life with their voices. They have great chemistry and express the emotions of the characters perfectly. They also do a great job of differentiating the voices of the various characters, making it easy to follow who is speaking.

Moonlight Relic: Guardian of Aster Fall, Book 3 is a must-listen for fans of fantasy, and adventure. It has everything you could want in a book: action, humor, suspense, and drama. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good story that will keep you hooked until the end. Trust me, you won't regret it!

A good continuation of this story

The story is developing quite nicely. I hope an upcoming books in this series. I hope the main character will have some time to slow down because these first three books have fallen into the literally trap of having to have everything happen immediately, one thing after after.

Great world building. Enjoying the character progression. There are times of the story kind of slows down, but overall nothing too bad. Looking forward to the next installment.

Still a great story

I've gotta say, the way the characters develop in this book is pretty darn impressive. The author really dives deep into their backgrounds, especially the dad's, which adds a whole other layer to the story. It's like you're getting to know these folks for real.

Now, let's talk action. This book's got it all: crafting, fights, and some top-notch world-building. It's basically my recipe for a great read. You get sucked into this world they've built, and it's a wild ride from start to finish. No dull moments, I promise.

And here's a cool thing – the author doesn't leave you hanging at the end of every chapter. You know how some writers just love those cliffhangers? Not here. They're all about making you care about the characters and the world they live in. It's a slow burn that pays off big time.

Oh, and by the way, I'm a Patreon supporter, so I'm in the know about where the next books are headed. But here's the kicker – it doesn't ruin the audiobook experience one bit. Speaking of which, the new narrators totally nailed it. You know how cringy it can be when narrators try to do kids and teens? Well, these folks aced it. It adds a whole new layer to the audiobook.

So, to sum it up, this book is a winner in my book. The character depth, the backstories, the action, and the world-building are all on point. And the audiobook? Well, it's a treat for your ears. If you're into immersive storytelling, you definitely want to check this one out. It's a real gem.
