Publisher's summary

First, the Vermillion Dragon. Then, the Multiverse!

In the aftermath of the Apocalypse, humanity struggles to survive in a world newly introduced to mysterious particles.

Preparing for the moment when Earth's planetary protections will cease and open the planet up to invasion by alien species, Liam and his companions transformed the Beacon, their sanctuary, into a fortress.

As the last line of defense, they strive to train and empower the Beacon's residents, raising their levels and strength to withstand the impending onslaught.

The coming days will be filled with battles, trading, and a lot of research on how the multiverse works and exactly what the Dominions are.

Spearheading the efforts of humanity is... Jon.

How? Well... there's only one way to find out.

Don’t listen to “political” reviews. Great book!

Saw a listener give a one-star review, accusing the author of forcing a political agenda into the book. Not only do I disagree, but I think it’s wrong to give a fantastic book a terrible review for something that is mentioned ONCE.

Without giving spoilers, there is a scene where the MC and friends attempt to convince a group of people to join up with them due to some coming dangers that are known only to a few. The other people don’t believe the MC and say that his warnings are “fake news”. The MC then thinks to himself, “Did he just say ‘fake news’? Wasn’t that a big Trump slogan? Wow, that’s crazy that it reached people all the way in Germany.” AND THAT’S IT! Never again are politics or political ideologies addressed in the book. The MC does not even give any indication that he does or does not support any sort of political party.

This book was extremely enjoyable and I’ll be waiting for the third. The action is crazy, the wider world-building and development of the multiverse is introduced, and the progression continues to keep me engaged. Please don’t listen to this other bozo, it’s great.

It's a good time

The guy who's upset about "liberal views" can't stomach someone having even the smallest differing opinion. I say this because like another reviewer said there was only ever 1 mention of anything politically motivated and it was mentioned as a passing thought. Maybe even a joke. Then you LITERALLY NEVER HEAR ANYTHING relevant to real world political.

That out of the way this book is fun. It's super different to most litrpgs and sure it's a little too much of a power fantasy but it's a fun time. To me it never feels like this book takes itself too seriously and I find that to be okay. If the third book is serious I'm hoping for us to get into the grit of the background story we've been getting from the first 2 books.

Liberal author push his agenda real hard, don’t waste your money

Can I pls listen to a book without some political agenda being pushed, I liked the first book, but this second book throws some stupid Joe Rogan/ Trump crap you. I just want to listen to a story not some political innuendo

mostly interesting

Overall I am enjoying this series.
It has a lot of clunky storytelling. Instead of conversation the characters will just spout exposition at each other.
The stat reading is God awful. every line is read even though they mostly only level up in bunches, they keep reading it every single time repeating over and over.
