About this listen

What if conflicts at home, conflicts at work, and conflicts in the world stem from the same root cause? What if we systematically misunderstand that cause? And what if, as a result, we systematically perpetuate the very problems we think we are trying to solve?

From the authors of Leadership and Self-Deception comes an international best seller that instills hope and inspires reconciliation. Through a moving story of parents who are struggling with their own children and with problems that have come to consume their lives, we learn from once-bitter enemies the way to transform personal, professional, and global conflicts, even when war is upon us.

Stories galore

This is an out of the box life changer. There were many examples told in stories to illustrate the message. I wanted to relive some of my own experiences for a do over. That self searching and memory provoking element is why i give it 5 stars. I didn't want the book to end.

Might work better in book form

I did enjoy this book. There are several characters and the narrator could be a little distracting trying to portray male and female voices. I also assume that the written version has figures that the audio version tries to describe. Very good story, and valuable food for thought.

Life changing read

Loved this book! I love personal development books, seminars etc. I wasn't sure I was going to love the format of this book but I found it very powerful. I will reread this several times to try and understand the concepts better and then I think it will be one I come back to repeatedly over the years.

The story should be made into a movie!

I really appreciate the narrator and how he was able to capture each character and their personalities. I would guess each one of us could relate to one of the them for sure. Too many of people are "at war" and are clueless that it's the culprit to our unhappiness.

Everyone needs to read this book!

I first encountered the companion volume to this book (Leadership and Self Deception) about 6 years ago. That book changed my life and brought me many new understandings about myself and those around me.

it has taken several years for me to move Anatomy of Peace from my list to read into the stack of finished books. I should have read this sooner! The ideas presented are just as important and life changing as those in Leadership, but with more applicable tools for implementing in my life.

This is definitely going on my list to re-read repeatedly!

Life Changing

This book shows the importance of teaching people to see people as people and not just objects. Using different people from different backgrounds in a small group discussion you find yourself identifying with me people in the group on some level. The book can change your life in many ways. Thankful I read it! Also, the guy that reads it on Audible does a great job using different voices for each character, so it feels like you are listening in to people’s real conversations!

Profoundly revealing

I have read hundreds of personal and professional development books over the years. As a professional business coach and serial entrepreneur, I was profoundly moved and reminded of the same principles as leadership and self-deception yet taken to another level. I invite all of my clients and friends to read both books, Leadership and Self-Deception and The Anatomy of Peace. The feedback that I have received from friends and clients has been unanimously positive.

Thank you, Arbinger Institute for sharing such profound wisdom.

I wish I knew and had a firm grasp of these principles when I was first married, and when I started my first company.
