Learned so much!

Would definitely recommend this-- it's so much more than a book! So many helpful tips and techniques. It even includes several guided meditations. Just do it. You absolutely won't regret it. So grateful for this book.

Great read for anyone who struggles with guilt, food, and self-love.

This book is helped me deal with so many guilt trips and to make peace no only with my drastic back and forth eating behaviors, but also with myself.
Also made helped me set up a pre-menstrual system to stay on the lookout when my “monthly visitor” was approaching to be prepared since mood swings and more cravings due to hormonal changes are coming around the same time every month. Also helped to understand why my “orthorexic” (all clean, gluten free, etc. etc.may have been causing the binges). Also that skip breakfast was the sure way to get ravenous later on in the day; but most importantly that l had hope and do do you. Aldo have given me the tools to understand many things about some of my clients and help them with some of their issues. Thank you Ali l am forever grateful!! :)

Eye Opening

I just recently realized I am a binge eater. I looked for a book that would help me understand my problem and a way to deal with it. A friend suggested I read this book. Within the first 10 minutes I was shocked and realized I have been a binge eater my whole life! I couldn't read this book fast enough. I had to download Audible to listen every chance I got. With what I have read now I have gotten control of my binge eating and I am very aware of my relationship with food. Thank you so much for writing this!!

Good book but strange reader

The reader for this book over exaggerated every single word. She tried to sound like every single word had meaning. The first few chapters were rough; HOWEVER! She did calm down later in the book and it was easier to pay attention to the information presented in the book.

Very helpful

I loved this book. The content is well organized and easy to follow. I am an Emotion Code practitioner and I often will delete food cravings for my clients. I had some clients show up with binge eating issues. I realized that just deleting cravings for a food wasn’t going to work for them because if I delete one food they will binge on another food instead. So I really needed to understand the struggles these women were going through. I found the book extremely helpful in understanding the binge eaters relationship with food. And even as a non binge eater, I could relate to many of the concepts presented in this book. Whether you are a binge eater or you love someone who is, I highly recommend this book.

Every time after a binge I would be like why am I doing this why can't I stop!!! This book is amazing everything she said I was like yes someone finally understands me I am not crazy or weak!! I was so emotional during this book!!! I am excited that I found it and I know the road ahead will be hard but I finally feel like an end to my binging is attainable!!

Some good advice

This book has some good advice, and I like that it was written by someone who actually struggled with binge eating. Nothing annoys me more than to have some skinny know it all putting out a weight help book when they have no clue the struggle people face.

But, this book contains a LOT of pseudoscientific piffle. At one point she references a chakra, seriously. Whatever next? The last hour is a bunch of new agey sounding hypnosis kind of stuff. I was honestly embarrassed to hear it.

Don't get me wrong. If you're still using negative self talk, the "I love myself" suggestion is probably useful. I overcame that a few years ago, so it seemed like an exercise in narcissism. Negative self talk is a huge problem, so the author should be congratulated for trying to address it.

On balance I'd say this book is useful to give some useful tips and some insight into binge eating and disordered eating. I just felt a little embarrassed that the author was so eager to invoke science where it supports her opinion, but she doesn't hesitate to take a left turn into new age crazy town to support other ideas. The new agey hypnosis at the end was just plain loony and embarrassing. I had this audiobook playing on a Bluetooth speaker while I worked on the remodel of our new home. I was alone in the house, but still ran to switch it off when that nonsense started to play. This new agey stuff also reinforced the thought I had that the author is mistaken in her beliefs about the nature of the mind. She treats the brain as though it's something separate from the self. I realize this misapprehension probably comes from her new agey idea that there's something other than the brain generating consciousness. In fact, the brain is consciousness. This is a verifiable scientific fact.
