Publisher's summary
Do you often lose control over food? Are you tired of obsessing over every bite? You're not weak, or a failure; you're just stuck. And it has nothing to do with willpower or being addicted to food. The Binge Cure will teach you exactly how to create permanent, sustainable weight loss - no dieting necessary!
Finally, Dr. Nina is sharing the successful tools she has used in her successful online program to help thousands of people heal their relationship with food. Learn how to crack the code of emotional eating, identify your binge triggers, express your feelings, and make lasting changes with powerful strategies that will help you stop bingeing, lose weight, and gain health. Discover which emotions you are feeling based on the types of foods you are bingeing with The Food-Mood Formula.
If you mindlessly overeat to manage deeper, intolerable feelings, then you need to investigate what's leading you toward food, rather than fixating on what you're eating. There's only one way to get rid of the uncomfortable feelings you are trying to avoid: to feel them. Filled with illuminating case examples and concrete exercises, The Binge Cure will help you break through your emotional hunger to satisfy your real cravings and learn how to truly comfort yourself - without food.
It's time to ditch your inner critic, lose the fat talk, and be a real friend to yourself. Instead of focusing on what you weigh, focus on what's weighing on you. If something is bothering you, you can't starve it away or stuff it down - and you cannot measure your true value on a bathroom scale. When you feel, you will heal. Get ready to break the diet habit and make peace with food - and yourself.

Superman was sent away from his dying planet with no one to guide him as he grew up. Orphaned Catwoman was forced to steal food to survive on the streets of Gotham. What makes these superheroes super is their determination to not be defined by helplessness. They embrace their origins, their flaws, and their mistakes and strive every day to become the best versions of themselves.

Very insightful, Nina’s words really resonate
I could relate to every single chapter! Nina does a brilliant job of breaking down the reasons people emotionally eat and gives clear perspective on how our past is triggered by day to day activities causing us to binge without understanding why. She gives you the tools to figure out WHICH emotion was triggered, WHAT triggered it, and WHY it is causing you to turn to food. After reading this book you can’t help but stop to identify your emotional state just by analyzing what it is you are wanting to eat. Once you figure that out she gives you super easy ways to deal or should I say FEEL those feelings.
I highly recommend the audible version as it is read by the author, who you can tell is so genuine and full of knowledge and experience in her field. The patient stories and examples are really engaging when you hear them with her voice.
This is a must have book for anyone who has struggled with emotional or binge eating!

paradigm shift
Dr Nina's book completely change my thinking about a number of things... how I see myself, why I can't stick to any one diet, my relationship with food. If you're tired of dieting and constant, all-consuming thoughts about everything you eat, read this book. I found Dr Nina to be approachable and relatable in the way she delivers her messages.

She hit the nail on the head….
I have always thought that I used food to comfort myself, but I didn’t know that this was also the thing that was keeping me from losing the last 10 pounds that I wanted to lose. This book is giving me confidence that I can stop thinking about food all the time and being afraid of it almost, and that I can have a more fulfilling life. I believe that emotional eating is why we are really overweight in this country.

Thankful
Jenny Hicks
I am so thankful for what Dr. Nina shared. I have always been one to dismiss my feelings and emotions. I have never heard information like this and I do find it extremely insightful and helpful. I am grateful for the stories shared and the information I have gleaned. Now I hope to put it into practice so that I might stop the yo-yo dieting and the internal negative talk.

thank you 😊
exactly what I needed to hear. I related to everything in this book except anger. It even helped how I talk to others and unresolved issues besides emotional eating. I tried, not expecting anything and surprised at the results., some of the techniques already. I lost 2 lbs yesterday and 1 lb today. thank you

At 60 years old I finally figured out why I have been obese since childhood!
After losing 80 lbs and maintaining for over a year and a half I hit a major life stress and started binging and overeating again. Through Dr Nina’s book I realized it’s not about micromanaging my macros and tracking every carb gram and calorie. It is not about WHAT I eat it’s about WHY I eat! Her brilliant insights and teachings about the “food mood formula” and why we turn to certain foods to manage certain emotions was life changing! She also has over 300 podcast and I start and end my day with an hour of listening and I am no longer making food my best friend or therapist. I have finally solved the puzzle of why I was obese at age 5 and have been a yo-yo dieter since I was out on my first restrictive diet at age 12 when I hit 200 lbs. Truly a life changing book that I am sharing with all in my life who struggle with an unhealthy relationship with food and don’t know why. Forever grateful! She also is accessible for one on one coaching and group coaching programs to go deeper if you need it! Access to an author is truly a gift!
