About this listen

Tad overcame the overwhelming power of Oblivion, saving both his brother and his mentor, but the world has never been in worse shape.

With the sky still smothered, the Defector's plots advance ever closer to their fruition. The warlord class trial looms ahead of our hero. Will he be the match to the severity of what is to come, or will it break him entirely?

This series always throws a curve ball. I always think its gonna be a happy ending but thats not it just yet. Things get kinda heavy in this one.

No what i expected at all.

This book was non-stop action! A new turn at every chapter! Great story and great book!

Another gripping tale!

I entered into this book not expecting much as I was somewhat dejected at the end of the last one. I didn't think this one would do as well but it ended up picking up a lot of the parts I felt were slacking and much of the lingering holes I was tired of being teased about. I'm not quite sure where I think they'll go from here but I'm mostly excited for the next. Liz had some more fleshing out but was still a bit flat, more characters felt less like props.

if you enjoy the series so far: 4*
if you are meh in it 3*

overall a solid entry in the series

This book almost seemed like it was written by someone else. It had a similar style but took some very different approaches sometimes. The end of the book is a prime example of this.
I have really enjoyed each book up to this point but this one almost killed the series for me. I hope that the next one goes back to the formula that I enjoyed or at least steers back that way.
I do understand using pain and adversity to move a story or character development forward but the MC shouldn’t have everything bad that could ever possibly happen in every situation happen to them. Tad literally could not progress because of this and his new attitude that came along this book.

Different turn

Like all stories revolving around stats, all the numbers become arbitrary because eventually you can only look up at the stack of bricks before you just can’t see them pass clouds and then into the darkness of the night sky. Boy, it hurts just trying to fathom infinities upon infinities.

The power scaling

It's sad how many of these authors start out with such a good series and then ruin it at the end. he totally ruins the story with the whole girlfriend aspect

very sad

overall the book wasn't bad but my God did the last fight have to take 3 hours?? I understand build up to a bug climax but by the end I was skipping 30 seconds at a time just to get to something new.....and the power ups bugged me the entire series is about tad fighting and clawing for every scrap of power he can get but now it's and infinite power hack...I will likely keep listing to the series but was disappointed by the way this book turned out. P.S the narrator is awsome his performance was outstanding!

the ending just took to long

For getting that entertainment fix and it is about getting that fix. nothing beets a solid story that’s a litrpg Frankly in terms of power progression this fifth book fell flat hard and ugly had a few moments of rekindling only to snuff out. Honestly think this was originally intended to be part of the last book. It would have been more palletable or split for the last on to the next. Still first opioid for the win. Now for the concession I re listened to the last couple of hours when I wasn’t as irritated at another favorite falling short. The story is pretty good. Though I see allot of potential for the writer to thumb it up. “I do not bite m’y thumb at you but au bite my thumb, (grumble) he heh sir.
If you’re invested already perhaps it will help knowing that despite my scowled disposition I definitely am surprisingly excited for the next book. But equally feeling trepidatious

Author just smash whatever you got left into one keep the power going with the story. A humble request from Smitty the Tinker Taylor wind namer lei tie fight and fornulover. That’s enough

I’m going to rate this 4.2 star which is generous

Just wanted to say I really Love this series. Can't wait for the next book!

Can't Get Enough of this Series

I don't leave reviews but this book killed the series for me. Tad became indecisive to the extreme and annoying. And the over explanation of things made sections of this book boring I fell asleep several times.

Was this written by same author?
