About this listen

Hump triumphed over the challenges of Bledsbury Dungeon, but it wasn’t without a cost...

Imprinted by the soul of the Wolf Dragon, Hump must master this new power or risk being consumed by it. The soul is a fragile thing after all, and he fears what part of himself may have been lost.

But with the threat of the Dragon Keeper Trials looming, he must find a way to get stronger...fast. In need of further training, Hump and his party seek out a wizard acquaintance of his master. What they find is a town beseeched by otherworldly spirits. Locals snatched in the gloom of night, adventurers sent to their aid gone missing, and whispers of a witch luring the creatures to their doorstep.

Hump will need all the newfound strength he can muster if he is to survive and uncover the truth of these spirits.

The price may just be his humanity.

Book two of a Progression Fantasy LitRPG/GameLit Series about a working-class wizard out to forge his own path and prove that one does not have to be Chosen to do great deeds.

I enjoy the comrade, group trust building, adventuring, level upping... a little too in-depth with the magic training.
I would like to learn more of the bonded dragon soul and dragon egg.
And where is the soul bag.. so he doesn't have to hide his backpack in the shrubs...
Overall... entertaining

For me too in-depth magic training

The emotional state of the main character does take away from my enjoyment but find the story and people both interesting and flawed in real if not always entertaining ways.

Well crafted if anxiety inducing story.

I really wish they would drop the gamelit characterization of the story. It is really a traditional fantasy story

The story itself is really good. I really like the characters and the banter between them.

Wish the narrator was better at voices as to many sound the same. Other than that, he is good.

Great story and characters

I really enjoyed this sequel, I really really appreciate the characters not being the best at everything they do and having bouts of failure and regret. I think it’s great and well balanced, the writing could use a little polishing when it comes to repeated words and such but that’s pretty minor. The magic system and characters are interesting and appear to be well balanced.

Another great book!

This book was much better than book 1. I love the storyline and it didn’t over draw out the fighting. Can’t wait to listen to book 3. I love listening to Tim Gerald Reynolds. You couldn’t have picked a better person to read this story.
