Helpful for better understanding my son

I really appreciate the author's positive perspective. My son is eight and has autism. A lot of material I've read about autism gives me information but also leaves me feeling sad about this problem that my son has. This book didn't do that. This book looks at these children with a positive perspective and acknowledges their positive attributes and I think that is incredibly valuable. Thanks, Kim Gallo.

Lots of positive information

The main thing I see about this book is the care and concern from the author in sharing their extensive experience and knowledge about this subject. They obviously understand that proper handling can bring about benefits for the children.

Super interesting listen!

Very insightful! This audiobook gives an in-depth explanation of what exactly being neurodivergent means, and gives you pretty good advice on different ways to interact with others who might process things in a different way than you might be used to. Helps break through the stereotypes to get down to the truth to better help understand things that neurotypicals often have a much harder time comprehending and accommodating.

Expansive Perspective

Found this to be a foundational resource for reframing cultural definitions and expectations about ADHD. The author synthesizes different disciplinary commentaries on the topic, and offers a more empowering perspective that frames ADHD as a unique set of traits that can be learned from, and platformed instead of being overrated and suppressed. The narrator was easy to understand and follow, content was reassuring and inspirational :)

So very helpful!

If your child happens to be Neurodiverse or Neuroatypical, you'll understand these terms.. As a grandmother to a grandson who is ADHD, this information clearly explained the main points of what I had previously misunderstood. I'm happy to discover my grandson is not "Special Needs", he simply has a different way of looking at the world. Thanks for the detailed insight!
