Publisher's summary

A challenge is issued. The sky begins to fall. That’s no mountain.

Joe and the Dwarves are doing more than surviving in the harsh climate of Jotunheim: they’re thriving. The Ritualist’s improvements to their defenses are paying dividends; and he’s hailed as a genius for ending threats before they come into striking distance of the burgeoning City. Every day, the Town expands further, allowing for more facilities, a larger population, and drawing in ever-more monsters.

So many beasts that the walls are no longer enough.

Even worse, the upgrade to ascend to City-tier came without warning, and Joe is pushed to the limit to make sure that his friends, allies, and hard work survive the onrushing waves of teeth and flesh. As the citizens of Novusheim face off against a seemingly endless horde, a Legendary monster appears on the horizon—its eyes fixed on Novusheim as it begins to cast grand workings of ice and snow.

The storm isn’t just brewing. It’s already here.

Great book overall and story arch

Another great edition to the series. As always since listening to book one, I hope there is more to come.

Tired of wall def

The story was good but there’s no story anymore just a wall defense book. It’s not that it’s not interesting but if you fall asleep for 2 hour and start the book back up you really don’t miss anything. These characters and the author could do so much more.

Good consistency

I really likes it just wish he used more variety of rituals. Idk why he didn’t use the ritual of mass repair unless I missed something

SAGA CONTINUES STRONG

LOVE THE BOOK AND THE ENTIRE SERIES. Here's why:
What I love about this saga of a story is how Krout reminds the audience that she doesn't intend for the plot to grow stagnant. She writes in the real world issue of becoming complacent with all the elements we can get used to liking but then upheave those in constant pursuit of pushing for an end goal. I believe it gives the series the hope to have a ending that is written intentionally and with a purpose.

I remember the first few pages of book 1 of the series and I've always hoped that the story will eventually return back onto the subject of that origin and offer explanation, giving us a sense of 'completion'.... holding true to the series name.

What I liked about this book specifically was the struggle presented and how it had to be handled by others as we can grow used to our big hero coming thru with a larger than life deux ex machina moment. Don't get me wrong, those moments help define the main character to me, but it's nice to see that he can be out-classed and be a bit helpless at times, which are key to any heroes growth. I Love the series and hope to see it stay popular enough that we get to see the story come to a written end when we get there. Dakota, we've put much time in your characters, please don't abandon them without giving us closure to the story. :) I only say that because as the number of books is added, the more of an investment we readers make into these characters also.

I love the story, but,…

Between Dakota and Luke, they really are a great team of storytelling and passion to getting the readers to follow the story. if it wasn’t for Luke I don’t know if I’ve stayed with this story as long as it has. There’s a lot of monotonous times in story and situations where the main character forgets about the things he has or abilities that could help him out in these situations, but he doesn’t use either because he’s forgotten that he has the abilities or whatever. Because I’m a huge Dakota fan I’ll continue but it’s getting a harder each time. This is supposed to be the completion Chronicles, but there’s so many things he doesn’t complete
