Publisher's summary

Just when John thinks things are finally calming down, the world never fails to throw a new twist his way.

And the latest one is deadly.

A distress call from Katrine has set John on a crash course with a band of vicious dimensional raiders led by a supreme mage who are already planning an invasion, while back home, the clock is ticking on the prophecy of the beast invasion that will wipe humans from the face of the world.

Worse still, John’s mana is growing stronger, forcing him to choose between sealing his mana away and becoming mortal, or destroying the world by his very presence. With the corrosive influence of the dragon, Farroutef, dogging his every step, he is forced to try and broker peace with the mages of New Dawn only to find himself trapped by the mysterious King of Beasts.

Forced into a prison of his own making, John’s options are limited, but luckily, he’s got great friends. Unwilling to leave him to his fate, Ellie decides it's time to step out and be the hero mounting a rescue attempt with Sigvald and Ferdie.

One of my favorite series

This series is growing to be one of my favorite series that I listen to. I have already pre-ordered the next book and can’t wait for her to come out.

Good series entry

Decent start, weak middle, strong ending.

At times in the middle of this story, this felt like it was going to be just a placeholder in the middle of the series. By the end, there had been good progress in the main story, good character development, and at least some world development.

Recommended.

Diminished but worth the credit

The final book of the series and it soon gives off the vibe that this is headed for end of the series. John's visit to the upper realm to save Katrine was interesting but somewhat formulaic in that while he should have been a low power person coming from a lower realm, he really is OP due to the "purity" of his mana. Still, it was an interesting side quest where he spent some time righting wrongs and effectively reached Super Sayian level of power on his return to his lower realm.

The story did spend too much time with John doing his introspective exposition which slowed the pace of the story and came across more as filler after awhile. The battles of the final two realm-ending boss-level antagonists were less epic and more tedious in nature.

I almost knocked it off one start when Ellie's first choice for "transformation" was a, uh, unicorn! but the author sagely decided NOT to go there. There was a sub-plot that was left hanging; that of the upper realm 9th tier sage plotting eventual revenge on John.

Michael Kramer's performance was well done.

In all, I still enjoyed the series.

The author tells a good story, but the audible brings it to life

M.K. does a spectacular job bring this story to life, he has phenomenal range to his voice and give each character a life of their own. Looking forward to the next one, keep up the great work

Great addition.

Honestly I am unsure why the negative reviews say what they say, it seems people misunderstood John as a character. some of my review with have some spoiler type language so for those that don't want that I'll just say this: great books lots of things tied up well and Seth is doing a great job juggling all the plates he set up for this story, loved it as much as the rest and can't wait for more! Obviously Michael Kramer was fantastic, he always is haha.

So for the semi spoiler stuff: Some seem to forget that John may be OP in power but he is a deeply flawed person, he makes a lot of mistakes he struggles to choose the right path many times and he has the literal weight of the world on his shoulders so takes options that handicap himself because of fear and urgency. in this book he is rushing all over the place trying to put out fires (ironic because of what he is haha) and doesn't have time, mental capacity or emotional stability to make the perfect choice even when the solutions seem obvious to the reader. honestly I can appreciate it a lot, John keeps doing what John would do and the author does a good job of lining things up so that it works out and juggles the mess along the way. The resolution to things like the dragon, the pirates from Upper Worlds and the Beasts are handled pretty well all things considered.

Now for myself as a reader of the Terra Nova and Tower series which deals VERY heavily with the Endless Worlds there is so much that I'm curious about, like are the Beasts the predecessors to the God Beasts? Is this some distant corner of the universe since they refer to the Tiers as Stages? Will John meet Thorn? I'm REALLY hoping John gets brought into the Tower series at some point because I would love to see Thorn meet another person from Earth who is almost as OP and cheat level as he is, John is basically now a Dragon with unlimited growth potential of a human and figured out the secret to transforming people into a hybrid of Beast to unleash insane levels of power.

My hope/prediction is that this series is actually taking place many years before the Tower series and John's plan is to secure the Valley and then unleash his man to transform the Lower World into and Upper. Also it is looking like Ferdi is going to become the mate of the Beast King and all sorts of things are going to shift on that world likely leading to a whole new group of God Beast and Avatars. I have high hopes for Seth's plans involving the over arching universe he has built and really love the fact that with the Endless Worlds he has an unlimited playground to make stories with that he can tie together if he wants. Last thought: I wonder if John's brother is one of the players who followed Thorn to the Upper Worlds... That'd be a fun twist.

Not a boring moment

Such a feel good ending to an epic story. I was hoping I would get an excuse to not get the next one because I’ve spent too much on Seth Ring series. Well, I am grinding my teeth as I look for the next one to preorder.

Sudden ending, but good

I have really enjoyed the series so far. This one seemed to jump through to many developments and ideas. But I really like that John is finally overcoming the rage.
I look foreward to the release of the next two books.
