About this listen

Forced behind enemy lines. Ready to do battle with slavers, spiders, and ghosts.

Say hello to the new and improved Clyde Hatchett...who's only a level-four nothing.

He's on a (seemingly never-ending) quest to get back to his life in Glaton. And now, all that stands in his way are the Empire-hating Carchedonians, a death cult, and a traitorous party member. Oh, and a mythical city that very probably doesn't exist.

Prepare to be blown out of the water on this cutthroat journey through the darkest corners of Vuldranni. Clyde has reached the end of his known world. And that's where the adventure begins.

Good but flawed

I enjoy the bad guys series. However, between this book and the previous I feel like we are getting filler. Some filler is fine, but honestly both books could have been combined into one. Hopefully the next book finally has some actual progress. Also, some of the characters are starting to wear on me and hopefully will go away in a book or two. I’m ready for some of the original characters to come back.

more of a sidequest

This was definitely a side quest, no real progression, but I like the world and am still interested in seeing where he takes us with good guys and bad guys

Good, but

Really love both The Good Guys and The Bad Guys. The only issue I had with this book is that we still get no resolution to the main story. A single book, maybe 2 at most of this giant side quest would have been palatable, but it looks like we are gonna get another side quest in the following book of this series.

We started with Clyde Hatchett in Glaton, building a guild and an entire life within the city. Now Clyde Hatchet is sailing the oceans for several books in a row, with almost no one from his original crew. I miss our other characters. I miss the weird, awkward love story that was developing.

As always, I love this author and his books, just looking forward to getting out of the ocean and back to Glaton to continue the main storyline.

great books, keep them coming! A bit short though

the bad guy (& good guy) serious are Witty, funny, and top notch. I love the story and characters and the performance is stellar. I laugh out loud several times throughout the story and we'll definitely keep coming back.
it would be great to have a bit more length to each book, this one in particular was 1 to 2 hours less than previous books, although still amazing books, as I've listening to this series twice, and will likely repeat again in the future.

highly recommended for lit rpg series!! Great work guys!

Great story but……

I have to get this off my chest. I really love the stories and adventures though I wish they would get away from all these side quests. Rose is the most useless character ever. She is supposed to be this bad ass fighter but every time the group is surprised/capture she is useless. Doesn’t do anything and gets caught just as easily as Nox who isn’t a fighter. The author is doing an absolutely horrible job with this character. She might as well not even exist. Also Lux is annoying, hope they drop her off somewhere lol

Good story

It was good but the characters that talk around everything are annoying as hell. Just spit it out. 10 minutes of a character not saying what needs to be said is so irritating.

Side quests and 0 progress as a story or character.

Getting very tired of the intentional lack of communication in books of this sort. Story's all seem the same. MC takes quest against will and whines about anything and everything while crying and trying to avoid his current reality. I would betray him on sheer principle alone, I certainly would never follow his leadership. What kind of theives guild leader is so oblivious to the world and crime. I do not like this MC at all. At least in the city there were characters I liked enough to overcome my dislike of him, but this current crop of side quest character soup is unlikeable. Honestly, not one of them I would want in my party or as a companion and because of that, I have little interest in the book other than to hope they all die in the end.
