Eh...

Narration is almost fine except when he uses that whisper voice, It is too soft to hear compared to his other voices, had to jack up the vol. then lower it constantly. The story is pretty bland and he just constantly tells everyone that his big secret. I am sorry but I am not going for the next book.

Its ok, not great, but acceptable.

Definitely a cat person. There are interesting facets of this book that strikes interest, but not enough information or explanations to really flesh it out. You have concepts of class systems, cast systems, elements of slavery that's apparently not slavery. This is entirely unexplored and never delved into. They're essentially serfs. low class citizens with little benefits. It would have been interesting to see this expanded upon.

Next you have entire magic systems that are explained minorly, I feel more could have been added here to flesh it out and give us a better idea of the nature of things.

Then you have the antagonists, this was perhaps the most unsatisfactory thing of all. One of those bad for the sake of bad with little history or reasoning. No real exploration into the facets that drive these individuals. Basically they're bad because I said so with two or three reasons thrown out there.

I believe the author is on the right track, has something they can work with and with some refining and work could even have a gem, I'm chopping this first book up to just starting out as an author and look forward to their growth as an author.

As for the Narrator, very talented, however maybe less whisper hiss voices, they're difficult to make out and force the listener to manage the volume. Mad skills otherwise, some serious talent here. As for the other narrators, fantastic works all around.

Author must be a cat person. 😁

So the MC gets taken right out of his room and sent to another world.
In this world, humans are kind of the pets of the felines, and their enemy is the canines. And with the canine threat is also ursine, vulpine and whatever hyenas are.
The MC is the first human with the ability to do magic that the cats know of, and he helps them to withstand the onslaught of the enemy with his magic and understanding of modern day Earth engineering.
I got this book for free with the expectation of an honest review.
I really like the world and the way the magic and leveling up works.
I am soooo looking forward to book 2. This is looking to be an awesome series.

Great start to a promising new series!

I'm really enjoying this genre. In his bio, Matt Pivots says he tries "infusing his work with a blend of technical expertise and imaginative storytelling". I think he scored big in his effort here. I really hope he continues and provides us with many more great stories for my enjoyment.

Unique World Brought to Life

About time the guy who gets taken to another world is actually an average guy, above average intelligence, but the guy is overweight and is much larger then the people of this world. For a first time publishing Matt Pivots nails creating interesting characters and a complex world unlike any others I have listened to. Matt Hicks does amazing as always on making each character different and his "Noble" voice is awesome. This book is a great listen and looking forward to the future!
