Are you stuck inside your own head? Learn how to stop obsessing and start really living with this breakthrough guide.

In today's world, it's easy to get stuck in an endless loop of negative thoughts. And if you're like many people, you've probably tried to think your way out of one of these thought cycles, throwing more thoughts on the pile until you're left with an out-of-control bonfire of anxiety, self-criticism, resentment, catastrophizing, and hopelessness. Attempting to stop your thoughts or replace them with positive ones is like rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. Inevitably, you drown in a sea of unhappiness. Has it ever worked for you? If the answer is "no", it's probably time to find a real solution.

In Can't Stop Thinking, psychotherapist and spiritual counselor Nancy Colier offers the key to breaking free from the repetitive and obsessive thinking that is causing your stress, anxiety, worry, and unhappiness: Change your relationship with your thoughts. Using a powerful blend of mindfulness and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), you'll learn how to surrender your thinking mind, and end repetitive thinking, rumination, and self-criticism - freeing you up to discover a life of self-compassion, presence, peace, and joy.

Very helpful book - awful narration

I bought this audiobook and the Kindle version. The information is extremely helpful, and listening to the audio helps to interrupt my thinking spirals, but the narration is terrible. I can still appreciate the information, but, to me, the narrator sounds like my Alexa.

Good tips but the narration 🤦

Good tips, encouraging words, and catchy phrases you can remember. she repeats herself, which helps with memorization—generally a helpful audible with tips and tricks that are easy to implement.
However the narration, good grief, if you can get past it, gold star for you.
Never did I think my OCD would be helpful until this audible. My inability to leave things incomplete got me through it; good luck!

Going on Being the Dzogchen version

Very useful, but it is a lot of various therapy session retellings. If that's your thing, you’ll dig this book a lot. Wish it spent a little more time on technique or pointing out.

Happy I listened.

Just what I needed

I feel like this book was written just for me. My ocd has plagued me most of my life, starting at age 5 and was full blown by 8. I could NEVER turn off my mind, always lamenting the past and dreading the future. Never living in the moment. Always thinking the worst things about myself and those around me. This book was absolutely perfect for me.

This book is not only knowledgeable but also wonderfully, creatively written. I loved a lot of the examples and metaphors. I enjoyed the narrator for the most part. I thought her voice sounded a little forced and deep at first but ultimately it soothed me like a wise aunt or grandmother lol. Her words really resonated with me, particularly “thinking is the death of joy.” And like they said, my thinking typically does NOT help me, it only tortures me further. Not engaging with intrusive thoughts used to be impossible for me but this book helps ease the process.

I love that they included the serenity prayer in this book. It was my late aunt’s favorite, she said it all the time. Even if one is not religious, it is a brilliant saying “Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference.” This book helped emphasize to me that I cannot change the ppl around me or get the perfect life by trying to predict the future or change the past. I can however keep working on my ocd with self help and therapy.

I encourage anyone who is inflicted with ocd or any kind of intrusive thoughts to let this wise book help and heal you. Good luck ♥️

The narrator did a good job.

Pretty good book but not a good narrator.

Great information that I really needed! Some parts seemed very repetitive but I guess that is part of really driving home the point of the book.
The narrator was really hard to listen to…I put this on a faster speed to get through it a little quicker.

Very insightful and grounded

Does a great job enlightening without preaching. Appreciate the authors examples which help but are not so specific to be easily dismissed.
