About this listen

If you're like countless other women today, you probably feel overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, anxious, stressed, frustrated, or unsatisfied. You may be taking on an abundance of emotional labor-tending to others' needs at the expense of your own. If you've spent your whole life trying to please and manage other peoples' experience, it's time to speak your truth out loud, stand in your own shoes, and live an authentic life-rather than just behave.

Written by therapist and spiritual teacher Nancy Colier, The Emotionally Exhausted Woman offers the validation, emotional support, and empowering skills you've been craving. You'll discover insights grounded in self-respect and awareness, to help you be on your own side and uncover your deepest psychological, spiritual, and emotional needs without feeling guilt, shame, or judgment. You'll learn why you are feeling depleted, why you take care of others at the expense of taking care of yourself, and how to develop a deeper form of self-care beyond the temporary respite of a spa retreat, bubble bath, or manicure. Finally, you'll nurture greater awareness of what you truly need to achieve lasting vitality and fulfillment.

This empowering guide will help you gain a newfound awareness of your own needs, and find the courage to live a life that both nourishes and inspires you.

The simple truth

I like fact that book tells many different scenarios in women’s life. Simple truth we often don’t want to share. Helped me feel not alone way of thinking and made feelings feel valid as a woman.

Permission to change

Loved this book! I am learning to stop taking care of others and focus on myself, giving myself permission to care for and focus on me. Thank you!

This book is so powerful I’ve listened to it three times:) There is a wealth of information and each time I pick up something new and it continues to remind me to put myself first. It is so worth listening to. You will want to listen to it over and over again! I wish I had this 20 years ago.

The Book Every Woman Questioning Why “Self Care” just isn’t working.

This book is a deep journey into looking at who, and why, you are the woman you are today. It looks at social conditioning of women in a myriad of ways. And it offers not only permission to discard who we’ve been told to be, but urgently demands that we stop looking outside of ourselves for the answers to our most deeply held questions. It demands us to look within with compassion so that we can truly meet, hold and respect the women we truly are.

Thought Provoking

This book was thought provoking and gave compassion. Made me think about how hard I’ve been on myself in the past years and now it’s time to give myself grace.

The Naked Truth about how women have been manipulated into thinking we were meant to serve and only serve.

It was like the author was reading my mind. she spoke of things that I had experienced in my early years of being married and a mother. Up until hearing this audiobook I didn't realize that I was continuing in that mode of I have to be everybody's answer to everything and putting my life on hold. I realize that even in the workplace if there was something that needed to be done I would Jump Right In and come to the rescue. Now I'm going to stay in my lane. I'm no longer going to feel pressured to be the person who has to think of everything that could go wrong and foresee others needs before they even realized what they were. since listening to this book I've been able to focus on doing the things that I enjoy and putting those priorities first and loving myself. and now I question everything that I do and what are my motives behind doing that it's because it will just please others or what I'm expected to do or is it something I really want to do. I plan to keep this in my library and listen to it again and again.

Good book.

I enjoyed this book. Nothing in it was mind blowing to me but it was comforting hearing stories from other women who feel similar as I do. It’s a good reminder to take care of myself and why it feels like such a struggle most of the time.
