Publisher's summary

Anxiety and depression are two of the most common mental illnesses in the world. Often they go hand in hand with each other, and unfortunately for thousands of people these serious mental health concerns go untreated. Perhaps you or a loved one suffers from anxiety or depression. I want you to know that there is help out there, and that no matter how bad things may seem, tomorrow holds a brighter day, with solutions that you might not see right now.

Anxiety and depression have been a major component of my life for over 30 years. I have been an avid follower of the medical community, and watching the perspective change on depression and anxiety has been fascinating. Today, one of the leading methods for treating anxiety and depression rests with cognitive behavioral therapy. It is my goal over the course of this book to educate you about the core causes of depression and anxiety and to provide advice and help for everyday things that you can do to minimize the negative effects of these mental health conditions.

My experience in the field of behavioral health is practical and comes with years of research, both introspective and academic. I want to provide you with a toolbox to treat anxiety and depression and to understand part of the root cause. Start listening, and soon your anxiety and depression will be put into perspective; you will have a theory of the root cause of depression and anxiety in the modern age, and you will have a set of strategies to help you cope. There's no reason to let anxiety and depression take hold in your life; start listening, and you, too, can break the grip of these serious mental health conditions.

ALL NEED TO LISTEN THIS BOOK

Would you listen to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy again? Why?

My ideas of what the author is talking about reflect my spiritual side also. I agree slowing down and keeping your thoughts in the present. It like going within to listen to your higher self.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Living in the moment so that you can stop your negative thoughts and replace them with positive thoughts.Being mindful of excessive thinking creates obsessive behavior.

Any additional comments?

I love what he wrote about the gratitude to give yourself and how it will boost positive thinking. Great listen!!!!

happy thoughts

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is something I have been interested in for quite some time. As I struggle occasionally with depression and my husband has a tough battle with it every day, I wanted to know more about something that could help us both. I found this book to be extremely helpful and full of tips, practices and techniques to help dig you out of the hole called depression you may find yourself in. I can’t wait to start implementing some of these things in my daily life.
To be happy you must think happy thoughts. This is not as easy as it may seem. If you make the choice to be happy no matter the obstacle, eventually it will become the automatic response: To see the silver lining. Getting there is the challenge. I can’t wait to go on the journey with the help of my husband and this book

I personally will recommend it to all!!!

I find this Cognitive Behavioral Therapy book a very educational listen. What is worth noting about this book is that it will help listeners develop a total understanding their brain, the state of depression they sometimes undergo, the anxiety levels and the many ways on how one can overcome them. Overall, this book purchase is worth it.

good advise

I found this book to be a mostly easy . Other than the occasional tangent into technical jargon, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Good advice that is easy to implement and doesnt cost much (if any) money. I liked that it mentions various religions without placing anyone above the others, allowing thelistener to take in the knowledge without judgement

fabulous

This is a self-help book for anxiety and depression. In my opinion, though it can be used for other things as well. It walks you through a way to cope with the symptoms surrounding depression as well as anxiety.

Great tips

The tips, were great, but the narrator was a little to monotone for me, and I kept needing to restart at parts from falling asleep.

Recommended!

A beautifully presented and balanced approach to CBT, rich in recommended resources for further study or inquiry. Whether teacher, student, parent, child, sibling, friend or health professional, these 'evidence-based' approaches to sifting out the nonsense that accumulates in our thinking are an invaluable tool for living a calm and fulfilled life, no matter what your own circumstances might be.
Highly recommended
