Great!

This made me miss the Two Necromancers and the Accidental Vampirism stories so much! No this book is not a story being told exactly but a sort of tips and tricks bestiary told by someone based on his own experiences. They all sound like interfering incidents as well but most of all I enjoyed the Easter eggs from the other stories.

It’s different

It like listening to 1 guy talking about his life experience, we can connect the dots to know the main character. Very detailed about fantasy creatures. A lot of humor which I enjoy most. Narrator is so passionate, he makes the book more interesting.

Not your “standard” L.G. Estrella book, but I’m loving it!

Warning! This is different from the author’s other works. I’m loving it, but it’s not a standard story. It’s short vignettes and instructions from a hero who has survived lots of fearsome monsters. There is a story thread woven through, but it’s not on the surface. The narrator’s great, but it might not be the right listen for you. Give the sample a listen to test it out before you buy it,

It’s an encyclopedia of mystical creatures. Not a story

For what it is….. it’s fine. However I was expecting a story not an encyclopedia of mystical creatures. The explanations are humorous. I really like this author’s work but frustrated that the explanation of the book was so vague as to what this book really was.

Mr Estrella can write anything and I will read it and love it

An interesting tale in his wonderful world. A completely different take than the usual and very appreciated

A Lot of Fun for Old and New Fans of L. G. Estrella Alike

Very enjoyable in its own right, but also full of fun Easter eggs for fans of the author’s other works. I was particularly happy to hear about the Unconventional Heroes’ Spot’s ultimate destiny.

Quite entertaining!

This story was a delight to listen to. The humour is great and there isn’t that much of a backstory to follow it’s more like a long lived hero with lots of interesting experiences giving a very vibrant lecture on different creatures. I didn’t read or listened to any other books from this universe so I don’t get the easter eggs so I can’t speak to that

Not worth it

I have historically liked LG Estrella’s writing, but this book doesn’t compare to the other books
There’s no story, it is a “how to book”. Essentially, unless you are a virgin or carrying a cute wild creature you’re going to die painfully.
I couldn’t get past chapter 3.

Nothing like her other works and not in a good way

Lete be clear. I LOVE every other L.G. Estrella book! This book is a man talking about magical creatures like some old western cowboy describing all the dangers in the West. The narration is a bit flat and the book seems fairly repetitive so it really drags on. made it half way through before calling it. I'm hoping it's a binder so she can join all of her "worlds" together. Any other book by her is top tier excitement and adventure strung along with witty humor and well developed characters
