Publisher's summary

Father may have been prepared to meet a demon, but he wasn’t ready for Noah.

The trip to the Linwick Estate is finally complete. A meeting with Father looms, and with it the greatest threat that Noah has ever faced. Not only does he have to pretend to be the demon that Father sent his own son to get killed by, but he needs to find a way to trick the paranoid man into revealing the secret to killing the very demon that he’s taken the spot of.

Everyone in the Estate seems to have ulterior motives, and Noah’s students aren’t an exception. The truth behind why Isabel and Todd were assigned to Vermil’s tutelage in the first place lurks in the shadows, impatient to rear its head.

The tenuous tower of cards that Noah has built threatens to tumble to the ground. Enemies surround him, and Father’s machinations stretch farther than anyone ever could have guessed.

There’s just one thing he didn’t account for. As dangerous and experienced as Father is, Noah is older—and he’s a far better liar.

Book 2 of the next hit Progression Fantasy series from Actus, bestselling author of My Best Friend is an Eldritch Horror. Featuring a strong, intelligent protagonist, a detailed runic magic system, loads of power progression, and so much more.

Enjoying this series.

Glad to have a roadmap for the next few books because I’m really looking forward to listening to more. Great characters, interesting plot, cool magic system, and a great narrator.

Great details and strong start. Audio was weird though?

I don’t know if it’s just my phone speakers and air pods may have all blown out or something, but there’s something off with the sound quality of this installment. It sounds…. Not so much muffled but just somehow wrong? Like instead of 1080p it was 720p? Still good but not quite right ya know?

that one guy was wrong

this is a great series and the one guy who left a review on the first book talking about how Noah was stupid for trusting lee is just straight wrong. I can't imagine having as much fun with the series if everyone in its world was as prejudice as that one dude who left a one star review on book one.

Engaging, Hilarious, and wonderfully read!

This is my new favorite book series!

The plot is entertaining and had my attention throughout. There are a lot of books that can be a slog to get through when something exciting isn't happening, this is not one of those books. The narrator also does a fantastic job and makes it even better. I usually zone out when there are combat scenes, but the way he reads keeps me locked in. He adds energy that not a lot of narrators do, and I LOVED it.

Also, this series is just hilarious. Noah's tendencies to just end himself to solve all his problems leads to very interesting situations. Especially now that his close circle of friends knows about his ability.

So many more things I could say about this book. Genuinely want to get a physical copy if I ever can.

an excellent continuation of the series

My best friend is an Eldritch horror is one of my favorite book series by actus but this is definitely ramping up to take the lead it is absolutely pure joy I've always loved stories about good teachers that really care about their students I didn't get very many of those in school and so stuff like the anime assassination classroom or GTO or books like these where the professor is just truly a good teacher are definitely a treat I can't wait for the next book

Plot developments! Character processing! It’s a proper part 2!!

I’m submitting a review because the listeners of the first novel want to know if it it’s worth it. It is. I am just as interested going forward as I was before I purchased this novel. Well done, I’m waiting for more.
