Story
One day, I was at a restaurant with my wife, and as we were finishing up our meal, our server handed us a survey form. Realizing neither of us had a pen, my wife told me to ask the server if we could borrow one to fill out the form. Instead of doing this, I walked to the parking lot, retrieved a pen from our car, and walked back to our table. It would’ve been easier to just borrow a pen, but I opted for the route that involved less social interaction. I did this automatically, without even thinking.

Great resource for anyone, not just teens
I wish I had this book when I was a teen. It offers a lot of positives and tools that can help anyone, not just teens, but what I liked the most was the author addressing that when you have anxiety, it feels like you’re the only person with it. Interestingly enough, that can contribute to and make the anxiety worse. But once you learn you are not alone or even in the minority, magically that in of itself makes a lot of the anxiety go away. Again great book, very help.

Get This for Your Teenager!
Having had anxiety my whole life, I wish I had this book when I was younger! I am so happy to be able to share this with my step-daughter. If being a teen was tough 20 years ago, I can only imagine how difficult it is today. This book is masterfully written and brings all the information and exercises you can think of together in one place. My favorite part is the 4 step plan to calm anxiety when it rears its ugly head. What a wonderful tool!

One of the best aspects of this book is its focus on practical approaches to dealing with anxiety. The author covers various methods, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness. The tips and checklists for time management and organization are also useful for managing anxiety.
The book covers several specific triggers for anxiety, such as peer pressure, overthinking, and food anxiety, and provides strategies for managing them. The exercises included are an excellent resource for anyone battling anxiety.

This is proving go be great with our teenagers!
The teenage years are always a stressful time, and nowadays, this stress seems to be at an all-time high. Social media, peer pressure, and competitiveness in sports, school, and in academics only compound stress, making the teenage years that much harder. Ritter’s advice in Taming the Anxiety Beast Workbook for Teens is on the mark in helping to calm this anxiety and boost our teens’ confidence to the next level. As a father of three teenage children, I’m glad that we had the opportunity to find this book. My 18-year-old daughter really liked the part about helping with test stress and anxiety. We are currently trying to implement the four-step calm-down plan with our 13-year-old. I like the narrator’s voice, and I thought the author did a very thorough job. I highly recommend this book to any teen struggling with anxiety and to any parent of teenage kids.
