About this listen

Pizza, coffee, and a library full of unplayed games. That's the plan, or at least it was supposed to be. Instead, an average gamer finds himself seemingly transported into the world of his favorite game. While some might appreciate that, it's quickly apparent that he isn't in some sort of virtual reality experiment, all of his downloaded mods are active, and the world is likely set to its highest difficulty with permadeath enabled.

The good news is that one of the mods enabled has turned all of his favorite NPCs into women while removing the marriage limit of only having one partner. The bad news is that his mastery of the game has limited use when he discovers new elements he never encountered in the game nor any of its mods. And the more he progresses, the more he realizes something else is going on behind the curtains, but he has to focus on survival and keeping his new companions safe before he can uncover the secrets of the world he has been brought to.

Note from the author: The Ascension Game is a lightweight LitRPG that focuses more on build variety and horizontal progression rather than strictly numbers going up, though options are limited at first. The system draws inspiration for its mechanics from a variety of RPGs and sim games. Romance is included as well as unconventional relationships.

Great start

this is a good start to a series. I like how it isn't exactly like the game he knew. Similar enough to keep him from immediately dying but different enough to provide a challenge. I look forward to seeing where this series will go.

Very cool style

Pretty premise on this one, few people have done this level of game intergration. It was very cool to see the progression of coming into “self” the NPC goes thru.

Just a fun story

This is a fun gaming story that the main character finds himself in his favorite game and the things that happen and it’s nothing special but Its just a plain fun story for entertainment purposes not a serious gaming experience

Do it.. just do it!!

So the main character is about to have a lazy day and play video games when he’s about to play his favorite video game. The game has been updated and he’s been out for a little over 10 years. A new update kind of comes up and he glasses over it and press the accept button to redo the game in a speed run like fashion. Once he creates a new character he gets sucked into this world that is the game that he loves.
Well he’s going through the game he remembers a lot of the recipes and crafting material he needs to do certain things. As well as the bosses that he needs to fight. Until he realizes that the game is on hard-core and Perma death. The way to the game mechanics for work to me is kind of like Minecraft where you have to scavenge for materials and that’s how you make buildings and craft potions and armor.
As he progresses he realizes that when he plays some of his sessions he downloaded all these add-ons to the games. Those add-ons that he put into the game are still in the game so all the characters she meets have been changed to female characters. I will say they don’t just fall in love with him but they kind of do. They just don’t throw themselves at him he does some things to save their lives and over a couple days they fall in love with him. Towards the end of the book he has two female characters so far.
The only issue I have with the book so far is because one of the stipulations in this game is you can’t have any intercourse without being married. So they find a Way around that where in intercourse they do other lewd things. But from my point of you is just one way where the main character is getting satisfied and he’s not doing anything to the female cast. I’m not saying they’re not getting their so-called rocks off but they are he’s just sitting on the bed while they do the work. Hopefully the next installment is quid pro quo if you know what I mean.
I really do enjoy this book and I suggest you to do the same and invest into it.

Heartwarming slice of life

I like how this book went. It's a fairly light-hearted litrpg, a mix between minecraft and a dating sim. Some fanservice, but it's not too overdone, with only two explicit scenes. It's a very character driven story, with the interactions between the characters being of more focus. I would reccomend that discretion of audience is advised, as it's not going to be a fast-paced action story, but much more slice of life.

Let the mods flow

New litrpg story with a twist.

Our MC gets sucked into the game he is playing, BUT he was playing the game with mods so his time in the game world will be differently than normal.

Think a Minecraft world with a lot of sexy ladies and no limit to the romance partner limit.

We get some nice gaming mechanic action and some steamy content.

Good narration. I am looking forward to the next book.

Great for fans of the game, enjoyable nontheless

Enjoyable listen overall, but even better if you are a fan of Terraria with great character building and acting.

Basically it tells the tale of what would happen if someone got transmigrated into a world based on Terraria on hardmode while at the same time having different modes active that turn all NPCs into women thus allowing the main character to marry each and everyone of them. Most mechanics of the game are still active and play quite an important role in the development of the story.

The exploration of the emotions of the characters and what would happen when they realize the reality of the world is done quite well. The impediments of their programing also play a big part in what they can and can't do, although they learn to be able to skim through the rules as much as possible while still being under their restriction.

It was a pleasant read and did not have any major problems with it, although it could use a bit of work on the pacing in some areas. Steam is also pretty small for the start, although I'm expecting it will pick up a bit more once a certain building can be constructed (players should know what I'm talking about here).

Narration was also wonderful, both male and female voice wore done well and you could feel the passion in their voices, no blandness in the acting.

Waiting eagerly for the second part and hope to see a bit more steam while not taking it too fast in gathering more characters.
