About this listen

The only thing predictable about menopause is its unpredictability. Factor in widespread misinformation, a lack of research, and the culture of shame around women's bodies, and it's no wonder women are unsure what to expect during the menopause transition and beyond.

Menopause is not a disease - it's a planned change, like puberty. And just like puberty, we should be educated on what's to come years in advance, rather than the current practice of leaving people on their own with bothersome symptoms and too much conflicting information. Knowing what is happening, why, and what to do about it is both empowering and reassuring.

Frank and funny, Dr. Jen Gunter debunks misogynistic attitudes and challenges the over-mystification of menopause to reveal everything you really need to know about: perimenopause, hot flashes, sleep disruption, sex and libido, depression and mood changes, skin and hair issues, outdated therapies, breast health, weight and muscle mass, health maintenance screening, and much more.

Filled with practical, reassuring information, this essential guide will revolutionize how women experience menopause - including how their lives can be even better for it!

Thank you Dr Gunter

No nonsense, inclusive, evidenced-based take on all things menopause. I am a psych nurse practitioner. Perimenopausal changes come up in discussion daily in my office. I am steering people to this book every day. Well done. Vagina Bible is up next in my to-reads.

Wonderful resource!

As a woman nearing this transition, I think this will be a great help in the near future. It was well written for what could be complicated subject matter.

LOVED IT!!

Thank-you, thank-you, thank- you! Finally, someone is talking about this. I learned so much and can't stop taking about it and recommending it to others. I wish my 45 year old self had read it. I'm 55 now and in full blown post menopausal state. (aka miserable) Several times while listening I was overwhelmed with relief, in tears and practically screaming out loud, "OMG, it's NOT just me!!"
It was a little more medical than I comprehended a couple times while listening, but I'm getting a paper copy for future referencing.

Validating

This book gave me the validation that’s been missing in my healthcare encounters for the last few years. It gave me the language and knowledge I need to self-advocate.

AMAZING

This book is excellent, has correct medical facts and information as well as other sources of treatment for the menopausal transition. I am an OBGYN PA and if I had as many hours to talk to patients about menopause this is what I would want to say. Her book the Vagina Bible is also excellent for all women. Read this book!!
