I love this book. there is so much to love about the story, that there is so much to remember in details that it seems like you'll never remember everything, but you will enjoy it despite not keeping up with every single sentence!

The conclusion of the Path!

Quill, Torch, and Scoop (aka Matt, Liz, and Aster) finally complete the Path of Ascension at Level 25.
We learn their Tier 25 Talents and then the Empire unmasks them.

I enjoyed the little montage of moments from along the way, as Matt thought back along his journey. If this were an anime, this part of the book would be a flashback/clip episode for the whole team before the season finale.

I initially expected an Epic Conclusion, but it looks like the series continues and the kids will be headed off to war. Perhaps even until they actually ascend and exit the realm at level 4x/50?

I got hooked on this series since Matt found out that he had a detrimental skill. Since then I have followed the series every time the new book comes out in audio I get the latest copy. I have waited for a while to get this copy and the only thing that I can't get behind is Aster was somehow renamed scoot. I don't know if its a second name for the alter ego or what's happened with her name.
Though im still in the middle of listening to it for the first time and if I remember to I will update this if I figure out what happened.

This series has quietly become one of my favorites, and this book provided everything I wanted at this penultimate point in the story. Well done and thank you for delivering perfection.

There was many slow spots and time skips during this entry in the series but listen to the ending. Made it all worth it. Cannot wait for book 10 to come out sometime this fall.

Phenomenal writing as always, glad the timr skips happened as i feel there wasn't much left in that arc of things. only thing I wish we got better details were the reactions at the end. it feels like the end of this book was rushed and I'm feeling a bit disappointed.

Things seem to have sped up quite a lot on this volume. It also contained a bit of everything in terms of story content. The timelines were quite vague though and it is hard to know how much time has passed sometimes between one paragraph and the next. Also, during the whole contest part, the author must have messed up as they kept going back and forth about whether the characters were tier 20 and 21. There was less of a focus overall on the war than I would have expected. But I guess that also shows how it’s not something that affects the whole empire. And I wish we could have heard more about the people that got Matt on the path. But apart from those more minor concerns, this was a great continuation to the story. Everything will be different from here on!
