Kulreet Chaudhary
About this listen
Prepared to live at your prime?
Integrative neurologist Dr. Kulreet Chaudhary discovered a beautiful side effect to the eating and lifestyle tools she gave her brain patients–spontaneously shedding excess pounds. In this, her first book, she shows us how to sharpen the brain, and smarten and heal the gut. Weight gain is not about the food, but about the body’s environment. Excess weight is a result of the body being in a toxic, inflammatory state. If your body is not prepared or ‘primed’ for weight loss, you will fight an uphill biochemical battle.
Her program is not about what you can’t have or do, it’s about adding simple teas and herbs, and succeeding without giving up any foods you love. With The Prime, Dr. Chaudhary has reverse engineered our way of eating, so we can stop dieting backward and start losing weight instead.
You’ll learn:
–The importance of neuroadaptation, food addiction, and the brain (or, why your brain and gut have made it so hard to lose weight in the past!)
–Why it’s not about what you eat, but what you digest
–How to determine if you have a Leaky Brain—and what The Prime can do about it (hint: everything)
–How to easily crush cravings (no willpower required), ignite energy and fat, and biohack your lifestyle habits. Lastly, you’ll learn how to live fully Primed, the secrets of the Super-Primed, and when you’re ready to explore new foods, how to eat according to your unique constitution.
Includes a PDF with recipes, quizzes, a cravings journal template, and some instructional boxes.
PLEASE NOTE: When you purchase this title, the accompanying PDF will be available in your Audible Library along with the audio.

Story
In Cured, Dr. Rediger digs down to the root causes of illness, showing how to create an environment that sets the stage for healing. He reveals the patterns behind healing and lays out the physical and mental principles associated with recovery: first, we need to physically heal our diet and our immune systems. Next, we need to mentally heal our stress response and our identities. Through rigorous research, Dr. Rediger shows that much of our physical reality is created in our minds. Our perception changes our experience, even to the point of changing our physical bodies.

Story
Authentic influence is about more than creating a strong initial connection - it's about sustaining professional relationships long after an agreement has been reached. Based on their commitment to listening, genuine engagement, and the pursuit of win-win outcomes, authors Mark Goulston and John Ullmen share a new method that business leaders can use to examine priorities, learn about the needs of key players, earn others' attention, motivate others to hear more, and add value with question and actions.

Most of us know that sugar can wreak havoc on adult bodies, but few realize how uniquely harmful it is to the growing livers, hearts, and brains of children. And the damage can begin early in life. In his research on the effects of sugar on kids' present and future health, USC Professor of Pediatrics and Program Director for Diabetes and Obesity at Children's Hospital Los Angeles Michael Goran has found that too much sugar doesn't just cause childhood obesity, it can cause health issues in kids who are not overweight, too.

And it arrives as we all, in some way, have felt a shift in our lives.

Story
To succeed in a fast-changing world, individuals and companies know they must create a culture of growth, where experimentation and feedback are encouraged, and learning is integrated into the everyday. Yet we often get stuck in a well-worn pattern of habits that don’t move us forward. Why? Because many of us get trapped in the Performance Paradox: the counterintuitive phenomenon that if we focus only on performing, our performance suffers. How can we give ourselves the space to experiment and grow while also delivering high-level results?

The book was informative. I liked her voice and what she said was captivating. I've already recommended the book to 3 of my friends with health issues.
First time I finished the book the day I bought it
Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
My only concern so far is that for the past week I've lost the taste for coffee. I drink 4 cups per day normally, mostly organic and 2 regular, 2 decaf on average (it used to be 8+ cups per day). Now I'm craving ginger and lemon tea each day and coffee just tastes terrible -- so bizarre!
I follow a ketogenic diet although I have a lot of vegetables and only limited amounts of grass-fed meat and a lot of sardines. I'm open to change to something that works better, but in nearly 50 years a ketogenic diet has been the best for me -- not necessarily for weight loss, but more for health, skin, nails, energy levels, cognitive benefit etc. One thing that particularly impressed me about Prime was that the author follows a vegan dietary approach (other than some bone broth) and yet the content didn't denigrate other dietary approaches. I find it disappointing when authors tell me that carbs are essential for gaining muscle or that eggs, fish and meat are toxic (well, she did state that meat from animals that are mistreated is toxic, and I think I can largely get on-board with that).
Dr. Chaudhary's story is amazing the book somehow feels like a great fiction novel. The story about her "intervention" by her medical colleagues was an immediate classic. I think anyone can benefit from this book irrespective of whether they have an interest in Ayurveda or not. To the author -- thank you for writing this. I've already purchased copies for many people that I know.
Excellent in every way
