amazingly beautiful and I hope it is heard by many

I cannot believe how much insight this book gave me. it's like she read my brain

I am so happy that I chose this book honestly. the narrator has a voice that is very saving and definitely is not annoying like some audible voices are. I am very impressed with how much there is to relate to especially for a girl who felt so alone. learning as the book goes on about setting boundaries and knowing that it's going to be hard yet not as hard is trying to please my narcissistic mother my whole life, it gives me strength. and I feel so much less alone, this book helped me immensely and I won't be surprised if I listen to it twice or three times. thank you so much for this work.

changed my life!

this book gave me the validation I needed to know that I wasn't insane. I wasn't making up my abuse or trauma. this book hit me differently and I have listened to numerous books about narcissistic mothers. this gave me the courage to set boundaries and also go no contact with my mother. I am free. I am liberated. I am grateful

I expected to be bored, but it was fantastic

I've been in therapy for a long time and finally realized after a particularly hard year that my mother is a narcissist or close enough to it that i should begin working on healing with that in mind. I expected to be bored, because (as i expected) this book told me things that I already knew from my complex PTSD therapy...but then also taught me a LOT OF THINGS I hadn't realized were from the narcissism! Warning: the first 6-10 chapters can be very triggering. From the author and other daughters' examples, it triggered more memories of my own -- like how I wasn't taught to care for my hair, then she exploded and cut it off and I was left at 7 staring at myself in a mirror, sobbing. Then it was made MY fault and she swore never to cut my hair again, but not from empathy...
I felt silly doing EFT previously and didn't give it a chance. I will now.

Life Changing

I felt like I was reading a book about my life. This book explained EVERYTHING my mother did or said to me through the years perfectly. This book was life-altering and extremely empowering; like a veil finally being lifted, I finally feel free. I cannot praise this book enough. A recommended read for any daughter of a mother with NPD. I am eternally grateful to this author and this book for saving me from the madness of my abusive mother and my traumatic childhood.

I'm NOT crazy!

I only wish I had read this book years ago. The author is spot on identifying the disfunction and dynamics of the toxic relationship between a narcissistic mother and her daughter. Even since my mother's passing three years ago, I continued to suffer the guilt, the pain, and the heartache from the wounds of such a relationship. Now, with the help of this author's deep insights and gentle guidance to gain clarity, and to free and love myself - I am on a long overdue path to liberation and healing. I am grateful to the author for publishing her book, especially in this audio format. Whether your mother living or dead, the body keeps score of the trauma... this book will help you overcome the damage from your toxic relationship and help you see who you really are. You are NOT crazy!

The best book ever on how the daughter feels

I have been searching for this. I have spent countless hours so unsatisfied with what is out there on Narcissistic abuse from Mother to daughter and this is IT! Thank you!

So helpful

From the very beginning of this book I wondered if the author was one of my siblings. We just recently started the journey into discovering why things are the way they are with our six siblings. I have a much clearer understanding and it allows us to heal and know how to handle things a little better going forward. I wasn’t really into the tapping therapy so I just kind of fast forwarded through those chapters but the rest of the book was extremely helpful.
