About this listen

Danger stalks across the surface. Tension and panic rise within the clan as whispers of a massive raider army of a size never before heard of, rallying together. They plan a grand crusade to sweep across the white wastes, eliminating any who stand in their way. Their numbers are legion, their power and resources near limitless. And their course is set to cross the clan.

In these dark times, the people turn to their immortal leader, who orchestrates a counter-campaign, rallying allies and might from any corner he can find. With war looming across the land, Keith will need to unravel the secrets of a power that shattered the world eons ago. It might very well be the clan’s only salvation from the impending storm. But he will have to do so alone.

Book two of a Progression Fantasy epic set around a pseudo-medieval society clinging to existence on frozen post-apocalyptic Earth. Impossible odds, weak-to strong progression, dungeon-delving, epic battles, scavenged tech, prophecy, magic, and mystery—12 Miles Below has something for everyone.

Great Part 2!

I enjoyed this book even more than the last! The writing is fleshed out and the voice acting impeccable. If you liked the first book, give this one a shot.

Just As Good As The First

This book is a direct continuation of the story in book one, expanding on the Clan culture, Occult mechanisms, and the Great Machines in ways that are at once interesting, satisfying, and intelligent. The development of the characters largely slows down in favor of exploring aspects of them we have yet to see, and allowing them to react to things we haven't seen them face before. Once again, Mark Arrows shows that he is a serious competitor for the best worldbuilding ever.

Everything written in the book is handled with dedication and enough raw skill to make it enjoyable for any reader. I don't have a single complaint about the prose, characters, pacing, tone, plot, setting, scale, power escalation, or narration.

It doesn't get much better than this, folks.

Even better than the first!

I loved the first one and this one was even better. If it had been twice as long it still would not have been enough! And Scott Aiello has become one of my new favorite Narrators!

Outstanding narration! Almost perfect!

Only gripe is with MC's mouthy attitude but he backs up after he gets challenged. I am glad he became better after, I hope that never happens again. It was a complete turn off, but other than that, great narration and story all around.

Fantastic story and characters

Wow, this story just keeps getting better. The story gets more interesting instead of falling into the “next baddie up” trap.

12 Miles beyond any other book you will read :O!!!

I have listened to thousands of books, and tend not to review many. However I can not overstate how great this book is. I have no idea why there are not hundreds of reviews about it, but I will add mine to the few that are already here. The author has really built an amazing world, and a hero you can enjoy to see win and lose. can't wait for book 3

Awesome Series!!

I rarely write effusive reviews. I try to make them balanced and useful to other listeners. In this case, I just enjoyed the book too damn much to bother making note of the flaws and places where improvements could be made.

I don’t know that this review will actually be helpful for anyone. This audiobook wasn’t “perfect,” but I was pulled in so deep while listening that now I can’t remember any of the things that I could point out to justify that opinion.

If you liked the first book then you should spend the credit. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
