About this listen

Earth's days are numbered.

The final Incursion, which will leave the planet without any protection from the multiverse's horrors, is only days away. The Horsemen of the Apocalypse are here. The Maleking is coming, and the Unity is making its final play.

The great competition for the throne of Overgod is about to reach its end. For whoever reaches level 100 first will gain ultimate power. Basil and his team are determined to win this battle royale at all costs.

But it is one thing to conquer the world and another to save it.

The 4th and final installment of the Apocalypse Tamer Series from Maxime J. Durand, bestselling author of Vainqueur the Dragon and The Perfect Run. Full of equal parts action and laughs, this story is a satirical take on the typical LitRPG Apocalypse stories blended with elements of Pokémon and Monster Rancher.

About the Series: Join Basil as he progresses from Level 1 to 100 all while refusing to play by the rules of the System. Able to recruit monsters to join him with his [Tamer] class, Basil grows a party of unique creatures to keep him company in the end of the world. They'll experience dungeon diving, battles, and building a little slice of forest into a defensible base.

So many LitRPGs go on forever. That isn’t always a bad thing, but it was great to see these characters get an ending together, rather than be left behind by an OP MC, or have things stretch out for longer than necessary!

A satisfying finish

This final book in the Apocalypse Tamer series felt like the Avengers of Durrand's works so far, a satisfying conclusion to not only its own story but a narrative built up over several series.
It's not perfect, feeling a little rushed to the finish line compared to the other books with some major characters not getting to be fleshed-out as much as they probably warranted (I'm looking at you Unity Leader).
But, it's evident Durand had a clear plan and executed many wonderful narrative pay offs.

A great end to a wonderful saga

I felt like it had a good conclusion. Power scaling a side, I understand it can be hard as an avid lover of the genre. But I feel like It was a phenomenal journey from start to finish all the way from book one to the last chapter. I would recommend this to anyone just starting out with the genre. As far as the books are concerned as a whole I felt like it was it was solid One of the better ones that I read not too many loose ends. Can't wait to hear more from the world that you created.

what a open-ended but satisfying ending. . . .

I loved the characters and Basil's story growth. As well as all the descriptions of Eastern Europe during an Apocalypse.

Being in our world vs a fictional one.

This a great conclusion to a series from a seasoned author with several series under their belt. I love the intertwining of the different world, I’m looking forward to what’s next from Void Herald.

Excellent ! ! !

I enjoyed the series. This one drug a few times during combat and some of the monologues. Still I enjoyed the book and appreciate that it has a long epilogue at the end

What set this series apart for me were the characters. I felt like the characters were extremely well developed and I grew to love them as individuals- rather than just part of the group. I was genuinely upset with some of the losses (don’t want to give any spoilers). I’ve read (listened to) numerous books and series and this will be one that sticks with me. I am sad that it is over and can only hope this group and its adventures are continued in further series. The performance was excellent- hands down the best I have come across so far. Giving each character its own voice definitely contributed to the feeling of individuality amongst them. I look forward to more books from this author. LitRPG is a fairly new genre interest for me but I believe this series has ignited a true interest and love, rather than a passing one. If you’re on the fence- listen to it, it’s well worth your time and will have you sucked in with the first few minutes.

One of my favorite series so far.

Will say I am sad that it came to an end but I enjoyed the series all the way to the end.

Loved the ride
