About this listen

Sarah snuffed it, expired, breathed her last breath—also known as died, if you need it spelled out—in the most unlikely of places…the library. But do not fret! This is perfectly normal.

What is not normal, however, is the persistence of one’s soul after shuffling off this mortal coil.

To break the Cycle is strange and wrong and perverse. It goes against the very nature of existence: lives must eventually be recycled (responsibly).

Lucky or unlucky, Sarah finds herself Cycle-broken and very much alive, depending on how strict you wish to be with that definition. Turns out, heaven has a return policy better than Costco. And souls are terribly expensive. So if Sarah doesn’t win some forthcoming contests, she is to be flushed back to the Primordial Sea of Souls, back to the Cycle to eventually be reincarnated as whatever the RNG gods have in store for her. A slug, most likely.

Join Sarah on her crazy and hilarious adventure into a new fantasy world, where she learns to swear, kill cute monsters, and fight for her survival.

I loved her in arachnomancer- so excited she got her own book!

I love the interaction Sarah had with Dhane in Arachnomancer- I’m totally shipping them! I was thrilled she got her own story. It’s so unbelievably different than the way Dhane’s entry into heaven started- but somehow that just makes the clash between them even more exciting. Can’t wait to get back to the Arachnomancer world and find out what happens next!

What a Shame

I really like the writing style and general storytelling of this book. Throughout most of it, I thought I'd be leaving a five-star rating. Unfortunately, it all falls apart with two hours to go, with an annoying rug-pull that felt very forced. I really, really hate when authors make a character temporarily stupid only to further the plot. It is basically the one big sin I feel an author can commit. That cost the story at least a star. Then we come to the very end and there is a series of confusing and nonsensical revelations which, I suppose, are supposed to entice the reader to want to find out what is going on in the sequel but left me feeling like the story turned to mud. What a shame.

So, So Good!

I fricking loved this book! It's a standalone that has ties to the Arachnomancer series by the same author, so I'm absolutely going to check that out! I loved everything about this book including the narrator because I was swapping back and forth between ebook and audiobook because I just had to know what happened next! I really want to design a special edition for this one and make lots and lots of fanart. I don't know why no one else is talking about this one. I need more people to read it! So I have people to talk to about it :) It's so funny, and I think there are plenty of bookworms who will immediately relate. This male author did a great job with the female main character as well as the female side characters. I cried at least twice at the end, and I don't usually cry at books. But I just loved this one so, so much!

Mostly good, didn't like the finish.

The narrator was great. The MC was mostly ok. I loved the fairies. I almost stopped listening when she got hit with the sudden but inevitable betrayal. It was obvious, and the fallout it caused was stupid. Only reason I finished was just that. To finish.

Its alright but kinda boring.

so she is into books alot and then dies gets isekied into heaven then she dies to what she thinks is betrayal and becomes a vampire. She then gets constant coments on how her eyes are pretty and keeps seeing her reflection not believing its her just to realise it is. Lots of boring talking and not being able to get enough points to eat which i have to say the first half of the book is very minimal in fighting, i never really got a good grasp of her stats either. The other half is where she starts fighting more really geting into her powers and then the ending which was alright i guess, she escapes and gets what she wants more or less all in all 2.5 stars.

A humorous feel good book.

I loved Sarah's journey, even the rocky parts. She did not give up even when some people pushed her down and got in her way she kept going. I also loved this was an all in one book, so I did not have to wait a year or longer for the next book. I wish the author many more books if he chooses to write them.

Solid 4/5 Decent narration and a fun tale

LitRPG is not my main genre, but fantasy in general. I will say this one was a bit hard to get into but then I binge listened to the remaining 12 hours over like 2 days. I was really hoping it was a series and this author does have others in the same universe so might be checking those out.

For me, this wasn't some master work of fantasy but it was a fun read with some great emotional moments that let you connect with the chacarters. there were times when the MC didnt use a powerful spell, but she is human and realizes after that she had a tool she forgot about. very believable and makes that part work. there are some great quips and humor throughout to make this a fun tale to listen to.

I really liked the character's vampire class and thought there were some great elements with that.

The narration was decent. Reba does a decent job narrating the story and MC, but some of the side character voices are just 3/5.

All in all, well worth the credit and glad I listened to it.
