I have been eating low carb for a while. I've heard about the keto diet, but I did not have time to study it. This course has already succeeded in convincing me that a keto diet is neither hard to understand nor practiced.

Understanding Ketosis

Ketosis is basically the process of your body relying on fats rather than on carbs or glucose to provide it with energy. Most people eat enough carbs that they are going to rely on those for their source of energy. But this is not a very efficient form of energy. You will quickly go through cycles of high energy and then crash when the carbs are all gone, and you will end up eating way more than you need just to keep your energy levels up. With ketosis, you do not need to worry about your energy levels crashing and then trying to eat more carbs in order to increase your energy levels again. Instead, you will teach the body to stop relying on carbs and instead the body will learn to rely on healthy fats that you start to take in. When you eat healthy fats, ketones are going to be produced and used for energy. Ketones will replace the glucose, giving you plenty of healthy energy without having to worry about the horrible crashes that glucose (sugars from carbs) causes. Ketosis is a process by which the body uses stored fat or body fat as fuel or energy. So, when very little carbs are consumed and that energy is used up, the body will go into ketosis in which the body will look to fat as an energy source for using as fuel or energy. Checking to see if you are in ketosis is very important if you are practicing the ketogenic diet. You will only lose weight once you reach the state of ketosis and some people may need to adjust their food intake a bit more than others to see some weight loss results. It is important to state that there are test strips available at pharmacies that you can buy that will allow you to check for the level of ketones in your body, so that you can adjust your diet early on and figure out what changes you need to make to your diet.

Will give you more energy

During the first few days on the ketogenic diet, you may notice that you are feeling tired and worn down. This is because the body is so used to relying on carbs to stay energetic. When you take those carbs away, the body is not sure where to find its energy source and may feel run down. You just need to give it a few days, though; the body will start using the fats that you provide it for energy in no time. Once that happens, you will have more energy than ever before.

Te basics to prepare and plan my keto lifestyle.

This course has given me the basics to prepare and plan my keto lifestyle. I have 50 lbs to lose and have lost it many times only to gain it back. I am hoping this lifestyle will work for me once and for all. I'm 68 years old and tired of being tired and overweight. Thank you for the great course.

Recommended to me for my fibromyalgia

Excellent presentation. Very informative and engaging. Lined out the areas that I have been questioning since this was recommended to me for my fibromyalgia. I thought I was doing it but now I realized how much I didn't know and feel so much more empowered to try with better understanding of Keto. Thank you, Will definitely look for other courses you are offering. Almost everyone is able to benefit from the use of the ketogenic diet. It is different compared to some of the other diet plans that are available on the market, but this is part of what makes it so successful compared to the other diet plans. When you are ready to start losing weight and improving many other aspects of your health, then make sure to try out the ketogenic diet to help you out. Thanks so much- an excellent course to help me get started on keto; easy to understand explanations and the diagrams really helped me as I'm a visual learner! Mr. Rios is very easy to follow. I like his visuals; not overly detailed. He explains in non-medical terms so that his lectures are clear and understandable. Great start to a topic I have been interested in for quite awhile.

Fact of healthy and unhealthy diets.

Anyone is able to follow the ketogenic diet, and with the help of this educational book, you will be able to see amazing results with your fat and weight loss in no time. When you have been trying other diet plans for some time and are not seeing the results that you would like, it may be time to change things up and try something new. The ketogenic diet will effectively help you to see the results that you would like, and this resourceful book will give you all the information that you need to get started. When you are ready to get started on a new diet plan, there are a lot of different options that you can choose from. Some diets are going to be more like “fasting” where you need to cut out what you eat so much that it is very hard to stick with it. Other diets will focus on cutting out all of the fats that you consume during the day so that you can focus on eating healthy carbs and lots of fruits and vegetables in your diet. Some diets are healthy and some are not that healthy and there are often many people who swear by these healthy and unhealthy diets. It is explainatory, Although it somehow manages to explain (colleage level information) and I could prefer using chemistry (the simple way) to explain it so when people read these things they know it and remember this course and thank it for that, But again nice course.

A very nice introduction to keto. I wasn't aware about this diet until recently and the explanation found here were greatly organized and very informative. Can't wait to try the recipes described to get into it.
