Story
If you’re struggling to stay on top of your to-do list, you probably have a good reason: anxiety, fatigue, depression, ADHD, or lack of support. She didn’t fold a single piece of laundry for seven months. One life-changing realization restored her sanity—and the functionality of her home: You don’t work for your home; your home works for you.

Story
Behind our stress, clutter, and confusion is an infinitely spacious place one might call stillness or joy. This is our natural state of being, but we usually don’t experience it, because we are caught in a web of material possessions, desires, and fears. Our clutter often becomes another member of the family that we feed, house, and lug around. In Your Spacious Self, author and professional space clearing expert Stephanie Bennett Vogt shows us that it’s not our stuff but the holding on to it that creates a force field of stuck-ness that clouds our perceptions and paralyzes our lives.

Sensational guidance
Such professionally compiled books and hints are always first-hand information to assist others in overcoming mess more easily. I bought this book for my daughter because .... well, beyond the obvious, she is unlike me a bit messy and I thought she might need some help. I had to listen to it myself first, and I must say it was well-compiled.
My daughter loved it too, and I can see a few changes and that she is implementing some of the hints in the book. It will take some time, but I am positive.
It's a really intensive, easy-to-listen, and well-narrated book.
The book's narrative was excellent, and the narration was pleasant to listen to. The content, as discussed above, was adequate.

A great guide on staying organized
I really enjoyed this book; as someone who loves to clean and have an organized place. While being a student with roommates, sometimes my home gets chaotic and this book provided useful tips. I like that the author considers why sometimes it’s easier to be messy, or that it is okay to have an organized home. This audiobook provided excellent advice on how to stay organized and manage time while cleaning. It provides a good beginning for anyone searching to build a routine and a system. I would recommend it to anyone.

How to Reduce stress by being Neat
"Neat" is a guide to embracing messiness and finding joy and creativity in it. The book challenges the idea that organization and tidiness are essential for productivity, success, and happiness. It offers practical tips and strategies for letting go of perfectionism, embracing flexibility, and being comfortable with ambiguity.
The Author also shares stories of successful people who have achieved great things by embracing messiness and taking advantage of unexpected opportunities. The key takeaway is that we should stop striving for perfect order and control and start embracing the messiness and chaos of life to find greater fulfillment and creativity.

Light hearted cleaning advice & resources
I got a kick out of this little sermon! The author spoke from experience on the woes of being a "messy person" in comparison to others who tend to keep things picked up, naturally. She has a good sense of humor about it and shared tips on how to overcome the mental block of being so messy. Other resources are offered throughout.

Excited to Start Becoming a Neat Person Today!
By the end of chapter 1 of this book, I started wondering whether Heather Carson had been talking to my family and friends or had set up a surveillance camera in my disorganized bedroom. How else could she have described my messy habits to a T? She seemed to know not only exactly how my particular clutter style looks, but my mental perspective on that clutter and the way I deal with it (or procrastinate).
But unlike most neat people, this author didn’t criticize my messiness or make me feel like “a bad guy”. Instead, she draws the conclusion that messy people actually have incredible superpowers! And we can stop being the “villains” of our messy homes and become the incredible champions who bring order out of chaos. Talk about inspiring! I loved the fun, fantasy-like perspective on a very real issue faced by so many of us. While I tend to be so laser-focused on “the more important things of life” that I like to think that mess doesn’t stress me, deep down I know that it does slow down the daily routine and that there is a buildup of underlying, quiet stress, even if ignored.
I started listening to this book with a rather vague and non committal idea that it would be nice to have a neater living space. But with all of life’s other demands and responsibilities, it didn’t really seem urgent or deserving of laser focus. Neat: 10 Easy Steps to Change Your Life, Reduce Stress and Finally Get Rid of the Mess challenged me to change my mindset and give neatness a try. Besides the practical, hands-on action steps this book provides, it helped change my mindset.
As the author pointed out, why not give neatness a try for 30 days? If I don’t, how do I know that messiness is my preferred style? Using the 10 easy steps for this book, neatness is definitely possible. And since “done is better than perfect”, this is a situation to ignore those perfectionistic tendencies and just start doing something to work towards neatness today. One step at a time!
Purchase of the audiobook includes a free PDF of checklists to help get started with an organization plan.
This book is humorous, practical, and motivational! If you would like to be neat but have felt like it was impossible or just not worth the effort, listen to this book! It will definitely make you laugh and change your mindset, and could be your first step toward becoming the hero of your soon-to-be-neat home!
