You can heal from past wounds!
This book has changed my life as someone who has battled the emotional baggage from their early years. It made sense to me how the idea of the "inner child" worked and how unresolved issues from my past affected my parenting and current life. I was guided to face and move past those old scars by the thoughtful and helpful exercises and insights. My emotions and behaviors had improved, and it shows in the way I interact with my children. What a journey
I've encountered the topic of the "inner child" so frequently recently that I became curious about what it exactly means. This book is a great introduction, explaining not only what the inner child is but also offering practical guidance on how to connect with and heal your wounded inner child. Before I listened to this book, I thought a wounded inner child was only caused by serious physical or emotional abuse during childhood. Then I learned from the book that even small events, like failing in kindergarten in front of everyone and feeling shame and embarrassment, could cause a wounded inner child.
