Simplifies the ADHD treatment process

I really appreciated the efforts made by Dr. Levrini to make this book ADHD-friendly. She distilled it down to an easy to remember model and examples provides were practical. So often ADHD books are written in a way that is not ADHD-friendly. I would have liked a little more information on challenging beliefs around procrastination, but overall, it's an excellent book. I recommend downloading the worksheets from the link provided in the book.

The performance of the narrator could have been better. I struggled to stay engaged at times and it was mostly due to the narrator not being engaging enough for me. Still, I was able to get through it without much issue.

Helpful and full of ideas

I found this book after a recommendation from the American Psychological Association (APA). While I already knew much about ADHD, I still found the book helpful with some basic skills I had never developed. I also liked the new approaches to various problems I have.

As an audiobook, I found the speaker to talk at an appropriate speed for me. During the psychopharmacological section (on ADHD medications), I sped the playback speed up to 1.7x and could still understand her voice. During earlier sections of the book, I had to pause to practice some of the skills/ideas she described, but I could still understand her speaking speed comfortably.

I think this book is a good first ADHD book for recently diagnosed adults, or even adults who suspect that might have ADHD.

The book is fabulous, but the reader reads to fast

I have the paperback and I’m trying to follow along but it’s too fast for me. It’s can’t take in the information. Is there a way to slow the reader down??

I bought the paperback

The narrator speaks to quickly with very little vocal variation. I have ADHD and bought this in hopes of gaining something. Unfortunately the narration makes it very hard to retain anything substantial, rather it became clear that this book will better serve me with pencil and highlighter.

I’ll reserve my ‘Story’ review for when I’ve completed the paperback version.
