Abigail Levrini
Adults with ADHD face unique challenges that impact every aspect of life, including work and relationships. This expansion and update of psychologist Abigail Levrini’s bestselling book offers realistic, proven strategies to help adults with ADHD lead more fulfilling and productive lives. With her extensive experience researching and treating adults with ADHD, Levrini provides user-friendly strategies for setting meaningful and realistic goals, developing a plan to achieve the goals, and staying on track while following the plan. Slipups are normal and expected, so Levrini invites listeners to keep a positive, growth-oriented outlook that focuses on progress rather than perfection.
Each chapter is full of examples and self-help activities to apply strategies to multiple areas of life. Special attention is given to the areas of executive function that most adults with ADHD seek help for, and to the challenges most important in living a healthy and productive life, including time management, relationships, organization, job performance, and recognizing common coexisting conditions such as depression and anxiety. Stop feeling frustrated by what you are not accomplishing, and start making practical steps toward achieving your goals.

The performance of the narrator could have been better. I struggled to stay engaged at times and it was mostly due to the narrator not being engaging enough for me. Still, I was able to get through it without much issue.
Simplifies the ADHD treatment process

The book is fabulous, but the reader reads to fast

As an audiobook, I found the speaker to talk at an appropriate speed for me. During the psychopharmacological section (on ADHD medications), I sped the playback speed up to 1.7x and could still understand her voice. During earlier sections of the book, I had to pause to practice some of the skills/ideas she described, but I could still understand her speaking speed comfortably.
I think this book is a good first ADHD book for recently diagnosed adults, or even adults who suspect that might have ADHD.
Helpful and full of ideas
