I'm not sure why a "how to" book was released here abridged since the power of Dr. Beck's work is in the very practical steps, with examples, she writes about. One of the things they removed when abridging the book was some of the activities and instructions. Without these, the book is informative but not transformative. If you're the sort of person who appreciates and benefits from getting an overview of a topic and then digging in deep, this will be a useful listen prior to working through the paper version. It's only 5 hours so it's not a huge investment. If you're going to put Beck's solution to work, you will need to get the physical version (maybe Kindle - I haven't looked at it) and read all of it and do the steps as instructed. If you do, you stand a good chance to change your relationship to food and eating and of getting your diet, whatever type it is, to stick for good.

This is a great book. I can honestly say it has changed the way I think about food and dieting. Since I listened to this book I have lost 10 lbs with very little effort. Maybe it was just the right book at the right time, but the information in the book has allowed me to approach losing weight in a very different way than I have before. I know how to lose weight, eat less and exercise, so why did it it seem impossible to do? I know I am an emotional eater, so why don't I just stop? This book gave me the tools to do just that and I couldn't be happier.

The only problems I have are that the instructions are broken into daily advice. Yet, the audiobook is not divided into the same sections. And there is repeated reference to files on CD 4 but clearly there is no CD 4.

Many of these techniques I used in the past with great success. Many are ones I ignored in the past that led to me breaking past diets. This book teaches how to make ANY reasonable diet work.

Great plan, it's my head that has gotten in the way of my weight loss. I've lost 25 pounds since I started this plan. Would have preferred the actual author to be the reader.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Beck Diet Solution to be better than the print version?

When I went to the Audible website on a computer instead of on my phone and opened my library it clearly listed PDF as a download option and that had 2 files: the journal and charts and graphs.

this audio book has been fantastic for me. It has helped me realize that I've been making excuses after excuses for years. And actually, it's opened up my eyes to the fact that many of my excuses were the same ones I used when I tried to quit smoking!!!
Believe it or not, this actually comforted me. Because now I knew this was doable. If I was able to quit a 25 yr habit, then I could "coach" myself to think thin!
I've lost 4.8 lbs in the last 10 days and I'm able to resist desserts by putting aside the excuses and keeping my thoughts focused.
Give it a chance and FOLLOW her guides. not doing so would just be creating yet another excuse!
