Publisher's summary

The Tower of Blight has invaded Hal's home of Brightsong.

Though the Abyss beckons to Hal, an old foe resurfaces. Poisoning his home, the Shadesblight cannot be ignored. The Tower of Blight will corrupt the entirety of the Shiverglades if Hal does not stop it.

With bitter winter setting in, Hal will have to battle not only the corruption on his doorstep but the very elements themselves. As the armies of the Twelve Tribes march on Brightsong, Hal and his allies don't have the luxury of time to deal with the Tower.

Every floor presents life-or-death battles, even as loot and new monster powers dangle like bait. But there is a silver lining. The arrival of the Tower allows for a new ally to join the Bravers, one with a penchant for creation and thievery in equal measure.

Even with this new ally, Hal and his companions will be hard-pressed to climb to the top of the Tower and snuff out the Shadesblight before it destroys their home.

Great book and series but….

This book is like the others it’s great but no progress forward in main plot. The little there was is great but needs more. Also this is a short book compared to others. It is still great. Recommended!

I really enjoy this story but

I really enjoy this story but way to much inner dialogue. The interactions between characters is great so more of that.

Great Adventure

This is a fun series to listens to. I wish it was a longer like the previous editions. I highly recommend this book and series.

Love it

The pace and story were good. I do wish it had more city-building and loot-farming, but I can not wait for the next one

Does it always have to end with the MC trapped somewhere

Like fr it’s annoying asf I was hoping to see some progress with the empire building and how the other tribes go but noooo now there will probably be an entire book on him getting back home now ffs so low effort

Back to good

I liked this series. There have been some choices that didn’t make sense to me, but hey, I’m not the writer. Overall, the characters are interesting & the world unique. The performance is solid & I enjoy it. Otherwise I wouldn’t keep coming back for more! This book keeps my hopes up that the author will bring some of the loose ends back together. Keeping it simple may be the key to continued success.

Love the story!

I love this series dearly, however, I do feel like this book does emphasize a few of the issues I have. don't get me wrong The tower of blight is a neat idea but it almost feels like a way to stall the story, or at least that it took up to much time from other interesting plot points or even small points of progress.
Either way, can't wait for the next book, and hope we get to some interesting developments soon!

Big Hero Trope

I love the series but how many times can you use the trope of the hero having to make it just in time to save everyone, how many times are you going to make the MC and others disappear when he needs to be there the most like come on man.

Pointless or close to it

A whole book and a short one at that just for some tower arch and to set up MORE suspense for the clan gathering. Super lame and a waste of a credit. Nothing significant happened and it could likely just be skipped without missing much. MC magically disappeared right before he's needed again the end next book. Really all this book did was take the MC from being in a reasonable position before the clan meeting to being in a worse position before the meeting. The story didn't move though it just set up different circumstances. Weird. Filler books wouldn't be so bad if it wasnt months or years before you actually get the next story line book. I'll probably be back due to my dang curiosity and nostalgia from the earlier days but geez this book was lame.
