I am facing this for a long time now, excellent book with loads of great information, and recipes that will change your life. Have followed the diet recommendations about 90% and have lost 6 pounds in 2 weeks. My blood sugar level has dropped 200 pts. without medication. Pretty amazing results, so yes, I highly recommend this book.

I am no longer diabetic, after following this program for many weeks now. That's after my doctor told me when I was diagnosed a year ago that diabetes can never be cured, it can only be arrested. Since changing my eating plan I have gone from a sugar high of 174 to 118 - that is in a little over a week. In coming days it will go down more. Every diabetes patient should follow this book to be fit.

I challenge every diabetic - regardless of type - to at least try this. You have nothing to lose - except maybe your extra weight, high cholesterol, high blood sugar, nephropathy, nephropathy, kidney damage, joint damage, liver damage, arterial damage - and any of the other hundreds of horrible complications this disease causes when you don’t pay attention to your diet. And if you’re type two, you can actually lose the diagnosis too - I’ve met many people on my journey who’ve done just that.

It is also a really good audible book on nutrition information for people without diabetes, I love only all the information on nutrition contained in the audible book .

I am not able to shop often enough to keep a good selection of fresh foods, I can't follow it completely. Also, the diet can be expensive if you buy all the organic produce recommended. I recommend this book and diet for anyone who really wants to live healthier

I had sort of tried Jennifer Louissa's food plan after watching him on PBS during pledge week. I was having some good success, losing 2-3 pounds and controlling my high blood sugar. Then I had surgery, and my doctors bullied me back into the SAD (Standard American Diet) and gained over 30 pounds very quickly.

My only complaints are: The recipes to follow in this book are ridiculous. The doctor calls for a lot of special seasonings and sauces from his website that are $$$. And he uses carrot juice as a base for a lot of stuff- and it is expensive. Unless you have your own juicer and want to buy a ton of carrots to keep up with what the recipes call for
