About this listen
Anxiety is a survival skill gone haywire. It happens when our brain is working so hard to protect us that it forgets to notice that the danger has passed. It feels like choking, stifling, smothering, tingling, panicking - our brains cut out and we start to make bad decisions - all normal anxiety reactions.
Dr. Faith G. Harper, author of the best-selling Unf--k Your Brain and This is Your Brain on Depression packs a ton of knowledge and help into this practical manual. She helps us understand the history and science of anxiety, realize when it’s become a serious problem, know the difference between anxiety and other conditions, and cope with it in the moment as well as addressing it long term.
This audiobook is a lifesaver for panic attacks, breaking out of flight-fight-freeze responses, similar and co-occurring conditions, and for chronic anxiety. Straightforward, funny, kind, and judgment-free, it includes a wide range of tips, exercises, and medical interventions. It’s also good for people who aren’t burdened by daily anxiety but want to cope better with the tough life situations we all face. Listen to this audiobook and breathe!

Story
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Story
The Science of Getting Rich is the classic guide to creating wealth through the Law of Attraction. First published in 1910, 100 years later it inspired Rhonda Byrne's best-selling book and movie, The Secret. According to Wallace D. Wattles, "There is a science of getting rich, and it is an exact science, like algebra or arithmetic. There are certain laws which govern the process of acquiring riches; once these laws are learned and obeyed by any man, he will get rich with mathematical certainty."

Easily digestible information
The author delivers this in a "real talk" sort of style, which I appreciate and find refreshing. People complaining that it's giving "White guilt" vibes, or "liberal agenda" feedback obviously have not paid attention to what is going on. The White patriarchal, capitalistic, and social issues that are brought up are absolutely a real thing and the cause of a many stressors in our lives. She delivers facts, not opinions. This is a book based on scientific proof and absolute truths while providing valuable tools on how to cope with and understand our anxiety. I'd recommend this to anyone and please understand, no matter what your personal politics are, you can fact check everything she is referring to when it comes to the social issues that contribute to the rise in our society's mental health problems at large. Leave your political beliefs at the door.

Great audio book
this isn’t the book for you, but I found it refreshingly honest. Faiths take on health issues is well rounded and not just medical treatments but natural based treatments as well, she lays it out so a normal person will understand and doesn’t confuse you with all the “sciencey stuff”. I wish I lived in Texas so I could go she her!

I'm sure using AI voice saved money...
great info , especially for someone who's very dedicated to managing their anxiety but man hearing an AI voice read it just makes it sound like text book jargon that is hard to keep listening to. I know it was written with language to sound more human but the delivery is unmistakably mechanical. still a good listen for the material alone.
