When a traumatic event occurs, our body triggers its “fight or flight” response. In many scenarios, the emotional reactions of this response get trapped, disrupting the feedback loop between our mind and body, leading to an imbalance in our nervous system function. Over time this can cause chronic stress, pain, high blood pressure, and a weakened immune system. This, alongside regular triggers in our everyday life, will manifest into a disconnection between our mind and body and create a constant feeling of dissociation from our emotions, with minimal control over how we feel.

Life Changing
Anna provides a simple solution to chronic anxiety and depression that’s been life changing almost instantly for me with each day a little better. Her voice and cadence make for easy listening and I’ve listened and re-listened to several portions and thoroughly enjoyed the appendix, too. Highly recommend to anyone looking for relief and betterment.

If you suspect you might have childhood trauma and want to heal from it, this is the book for you. I’m literally becoming a different person, healthier person after going through this book. Highly recommend!

Life changing
Traditional talk therapy wasn’t getting me anywhere. This book explained why and what helps instead.
I had no idea that with CPTSD my “normal” was a nervous system that was chronically dysregulated. Once I learned how to reregulate, my life changed. I am slowly but surely able to process my emotions, have found a precious sense of self compassion, and my anxiety levels have fallen by like 90%. This book was extremely helpful.

practical, simple & effective
I don’t normally leave audible reviews but had to on this one. Not just because I adore the author whom I found on YouTube about 6 months ago & have found very comforting & insightful as a person, but also because I’ve been using the method she teaches, and I swear it works! On days that I do it, my life starts to unfold in the most magical ways, on the days that I find excuses not to, I backslide. Pretty amazing stuff, you must try it to believe it.
