Publisher's summary

With the third realm, new challenges arise.

Erik searches for Old Hei while Rugrat deals with his broken mana system. For both, their path takes them toward the alchemist association's trial.

They didn't mean to get into trouble, they swear, but in the ten realms, trouble is not far behind the duo. They'll have to fight across the third realm to complete the alchemist association's trial.

All isn't peaceful in the first realm as Alva and Vermire will face one of their greatest challenges yet.

Chaos or creation? There's no knowing what might happen in the ten realms.

Excellent overall world building, better than #2

Continued world building with interesting developments. Writing is an improvement over book 2. Still has some odd speech patterns that really get brought out when it's presented as an audio book like when a person speaking actually says "and so on and so forth" or some other speech pattern that is rarely spoken but sometimes seen in narration/writing.

Good continuation and setup for next

Good series, can get technical and dry sometimes but I still enjoy it. Good resolution for this Realm to prepare for the 4th.

another great addition to the series

Great book and really enjoyed the alchemy side of the adventure. Only negative was how rugrat acted when he had so much support by a friend who was doing everything he could to get him help and actually had a fix to his problems but instead of being hopeful and strong he was weak and drank in self pity and refused to talk about his problems because that would somehow be less masculine or something.

another great story in the series

I loved the first two in the series. And this one doesn't disappoint. I cannot wait to listen to the fourth realm.

this is probably my second favorite book in the series love to hear Todd Menesses as a narrator really brings the book to Life

great story

i love how everything is proceeding it may seem a lil formulaic with move here do these things get in trouble because of this but even broken down to its simplest form it's masterfully done and entertaining as hell one of its biggest strengths imo is the fact that theres so many characters to care about with multiple stories happening around the realms at the same time several times ive found myself crying out as things were heading up and they switch gears to a different group only to get super into it and it happen all over again the pacing of everything is sort good and i felt no one sorry was less important or boring as any other 10/10

ending felt abrupt. narrator with odd cadence of speech at times. characters always explaining every felt too scripted. interesting plot.

it kept up the rhythm of the first books

I was impressed that he was able to keep the story rolling as he did in the first few books
