About this listen

One city saved. A Territory to defend. The threshold beckons.

The war for Haarwatch has been won, granting Felix a small respite. His time is spent struggling to restore the city with his people, yet trouble brews on the horizon. The Archon has not sat idle while Felix consolidated his power, and the ancient seals upon his prison have been broken.

Guided by a Territorial Quest, Felix and his allies find themselves in the unenviable position of needing to split their forces as the drums of war resume. The Archon threatens all, but the Inquisition isn't ready to accept their failures in Haarwatch.

Felix must return to the Foglands, to the Waterfall Temple he once claimed as shelter. If he doesn't, and the Archon secures the power hidden behind the Door of the Lidless Eye...there's no telling what may happen. Divided yet undaunted, they move with purpose firming their Will as events threaten to outpace them all.

Battle looms while peace trembles...and once more fate balances upon the scales of the Fiend.

The story does an excellent job of blending action with character development and world building.

Devouring memories grants us glimpses of exposition without drowning us in details.

Felix is monstrously OP but still faces challenges while experiencing progression and growth.

The series continues to deliver on wish fulfillment and power fantasies.

If I could change one thing about this book, I'd like to see some more development in the side characters as they played a negligible role and didn't develop much.

Excellent Sequel

Some love interest in it but it doesn’t big down the story. A good read. Feels like I ran a mile

For the series fan. This is a great continuation of the series. Felix become stronger and get more skills and beats the villain you know he is facing in the book. Can’t wait for the next book. Travis does amazing work as always. 👍👍

Wow ! When you thought it can’t get better. It does

So many really cool aspects of this book from the way mana was manipulated to the different stats. It did get a little stat, heavy and stuff but the approach that the author took to explain this was it was really enjoyable thank you and I look forward to your next book.

Great book I look forward to the next

Nicoli has pushed the boundaries of his writing skills to deliver a new portion of the story that enhances all that has lead up to it. Truly a fun read and a brilliant author, to say nothing of the masterful performance by the venerable Travis Baldree.

This is now my favorite litrpg series

I admit, the last book had me bored, and I wasn't looking forward to this one. Felix in the city is boring. Thankfully, he gets away from all that the ending has me excited for the next entry in the series.

Back on track!

The earlier books were more clear. In this book he has to weave the ribbons in his core into pillars? Not explained at all. Still not sure what happened there.

Additionally the path sequence using his omen key was too rushed. All the most interesting upgrades just glazed over.

Good not Great

Amazing story telling and imaginative use of environment and skills. Riveting and keeps me wanting more.

Stumbling into power has never sounded so amazing.
