Publisher's summary

Straight out of the West (or, you know, somewhere through a gloom portal), in a thunder of hooves (but they're kinda like giant turtle hooves, if you can picture it?), comes Montana Coggeshall, gun (sword) slinger.

Sure, he's survived Fiends' Night and an all-out goblin war. But for his people in Coggeshall to truly be safe, Montana needs to go out and find the source of all these crazy attacks.

Along the way, Montana will be tested by feuding families, money-hungry miners, hookers with hearts of gold, and more than a few idiot tour guides. Turns out everything Montana's been through up until now wasn't hell. It was practice.

Wild Wild Quest is rabble rousin' LitRPG like you've never heard before. For fans of genre-twisting plots full of mind-bending battles.

I liked it very much, but not as much as prior

I did enjoy it but I had trouble with it I don't know why I couldn't follow it as well and I just didn't feel it was as good as all the rest before it

ONE COMPLAINT!!!

Please make these long or have the other ones ready to go (Flex in the City) love love this series and I don't know why he feels like the bone head we are all secretly inside. There is a lot going on and I love it there are always cliff hangers so you know there is that ...balls... I can't wait to get my grubby hands on the next few that come out.
You will get what you signed up for and in that these are enjoyable if you like the first book and are in this far its like the fast and the Furious movies you know hat your getting but none the less its fun Montana will be in some one ripping himself out love those moments btw and there will be snark, death, and glorious moments to be had. Enjoy and do that voodoo you do.

Good Guy meter dropped a bit

Eric Ugland nails another one. As the title suggests, Montana venture into another realm to find and kill whoever was responsible for bringing the goblin horde into Coggeshall and the setting is that of a wild west environment. While there he and a small cadre of his hirð find themselves encountering lots of different monsters and beasts other than goblins. The town of interest is ruled by two families and like the Hatfields and McCoys, set on killing the other off. The encounters with the locals is bewildering and isn't unfolded until near the end. As with other significant encounters, Montana ends up making enemies with a very powerful guild that will undoubtedly cause severe problem in the future.

Montana crosses the line a bit in this episode where he decides on a "take no prisoners" approach in one of his encounters and Eric seems to be suggesting that Montana may be approaching a breakdown with the pressures from killing lots of people for "the better good". It will be interesting to see how this evolves in subsequent books.

Neil Hellegers performance also continues to deliver.

These always end with a cliffhanger

I absolutely love this series and Neil does a fantastic job of portraying Montana. I know a lot of people moan about how stupid the guy is but they usually forget that not everyone played WoW or a lot of RPGs. Montana was thrown into a world where he literally knows nothing, and can’t get a break. He’s either fighting hordes of creatures, an ancient god and a spiteful book. He just doesn’t have the time to practice, learn and put his intelligence points to use. This was great from start to finish and can’t wait for the next book to come to audible.

Recovery!

I had a tough time with the last couple of bbooks in the series, but this one 100% restored my love for the series. Can't wait for more, and WOW Neil did a great job with the voice acting!

Mr. Ugland, please, if you read these reviews...

Eric, you are literally one of my favorite authors of all time. I have read your entire library available on audible. roseland is one of my favorite series... but this series (the good guys) has been feeling like nothing will ever actually happen. Montana is one of my favorite characters of all time. it's been about 6 books in the series that have felt like you have no intention of this story finding any kind of ending, or any real progress. major plot points from each book go nowhere. major happenings are forgotten. you build the whole book for 20 minutes of storyline resolution, in the last 21 minutes of the book. then, all of the major points of the previous book are simply walked away from. as one of your biggest fans. I am starting to think I won't go any further with this series, as well the bad guy series. that decision really hurts me to consider. but it's like a 96 year old person trying to tell you a story they heard 82 years ago, and have since lost their memory. like, where is his boon shield, and sword?!?!?! super weasels. 4 books in, and this is the first time they do anything and it's like 30 whole minutes of the book. that is a plot line that's been in the last 4 or so books. the 2 gifts given in this book, go nowhere. was this book about the master? who knows??? we've only heard about him being looked for, for a few minutes of the last 3 or 4 books. the magic building... the golden girls held onto plots better, and progressed faster. 12 books, and it feels like we've gotten 6 books of actual goodness. 6 books of sad filler. come on sir... please stop making us your bank account, and give us a story as only you can tell. please...
