About this listen

Every person is wired for love differently—with different habits, needs, and reactions to conflict. The good news is that most people's minds work in predictable ways and respond well to security, attachment, and routines, making it possible to neurologically prime the brain for greater love and connection and fewer conflicts. This go-to guide will show you how.

Drawn from neuroscience, attachment theory, and emotion regulation, this highly anticipated second edition of Wired for Love presents cutting-edge research on how and why love lasts, and offers ten guiding principles that can improve any relationship. This fully revised edition also includes new guidance on how to manage disagreements, as well as new exercises to help you create a sense of safety and security, establish healthy conflict ground rules, and deal with the threat of the third—any outside source which threatens the harmony in your relationship, including in-laws, alcohol, children, and affairs.

By using simple gestures and words, you'll learn to put out emotional fires and help your partner feel appreciated and loved. You'll also discover how to move past a "warring brain" mentality and toward a more cooperative "loving brain." Most importantly, you'll gain a better understanding of the complex dynamics at work behind love and trust in intimate relationships.

This book brought into focus the inadequacies I had as a husband of 37 years.

a sincere thanks to the author who threw his insight and experience, has for me, for the first time in my life (at the age 62) I have begun to understand the mistakes that I've been making in my relationship with my wife throughout our 37 year marriage.

I encourage anyone who is suffering from conflict, no matter how small or big, to take the time to read, or listen to, this book.

This is not a self-help book. This is a book that shares years of experience by a mental health provider on couples issues whether they be straight or gay young or old. my only regret, is that I did not find this decades ago.

I can only hope with the tools that I've learned here that I can make endroads to remedy what is wrong in my life.

Really helpful book

This book is very helpful to me in understanding my relationships with more than just my partner. I read the first book and thought reading the second edition would be a great refresher. It keeps me interested the whole time and I learned a lot. I am all for using pronouns but I will say this way of writing made me extremely confused. I could not follow who or how many people the story was talking about and I had to stop reading it I was so confused. I’d highly recommend the first version because of this.
