Publisher's summary

What do you do when the game resets around you?

Just when Montana thought he had life in Vuldranni figured out, the rug is pulled out from under him. He's alone once again, but now he's in the crosshairs of the man who would be emperor, and a whole host of people are counting on Montana to provide a safe haven for them.

Montana has one hope of actually completing his quest of forming a dukedom: he needs to bust Nikolai out of prison.

A prison that no one has ever escaped from alive.

A prison whose only exit is little more than rumor and probably doesn't even exist - through a sentient dungeon, hell-bent on causing torture, inflicting pain, and extracting the ultimate price: life.

Montana and his hirðmen are down to their last chance. So they get themselves arrested and enter Osterstadt prison. Can the Good Guys do good by going bad?

very satisfying

Meathead continues on his adventures succeeding through sheer dumb stubborn force of will and is honestly just too dumb to fail and yet his obvious stupidity continues to make his life way harder than it needs to be has literally everything bad that's happened to him is his own damn fault as are all his major victories this is a nice installment with an actual ending leading into what is shaping up to be a really fun and great series World of Fun the action is good and Meathead continues to sidestep all the same stupid tropes that make other game with books such a frustrating slog while still delivering a fun entertaining power fantasy

Top 5

This series is in my top 5 favorite LitRPG series!

But seriously, I'm loving the series and wishing the books were longer!

Sorry horsey

Very much enjoy the series but I have to add a few of my own strikes against the proverbial dead horse and say that the individual books are too short. Some reviewers point to the stories being all 'meat and potatoes', giving the series a pass on the shortened length but I have to disagree.
For the sake of the Audible credit system, group some of these stories together. This is the way, I have spoken.

Not for me.

The world is very engaging and beautiful, all the supporting characters are brilliant and interesting. However none of that matters in light of the main character being unable to bring them together to make an enjoyable story, at least for me. Three books in and I decided this series is not for me. I got more headaches than enjoyment.

Montana needs some intelligence points

I love the characters, and the creative ways the author gets Montana into (and out of) trouble. Every time he levels up and has some points, though, I'm over here yelling to add a few points to intelligence. Or wisdom.

Really good story, but...

the story and performance is excellent, but the protagonist redefines the definition of a dumbass moron. It is a ragefilled, headache inducing stupidity. The world, the system and all the other characters are incredible, but the protagonist... just, so. damn. stupid.

Limited Edition Dungeon Delving

The author went a bit over-the-top with the stats dumping and while he is beginning to show less deference to his advisor, his one-man wrecking ball tendency is beginning to be predictable and not in a good way, the same with the MC's dumbness schtick. While I enjoyed the introduction of a dungeon delve, the premature completion with all the rewards after only level 4 of 10 dungeon was a disappointment.

Still, I enjoyed this book and have purchased book 4 to continue on with the series.

The narrator seems so tired at 43 minutes left

This is a great book and love the narrator but the cover art is not that great
