It's time to end your addiction to sugar.
Before each binge comes a hollow feeling, like an invisible hand that pushes you to seek sugar. It manifests when you're stressed, bored, anxious. Addiction makes you the tennis ball in a match between self-loathing and depression. Every binge leads to self-loathing, the self-loathing leads to depression, which in turn leads to more binging. It's time to break that cycle.
As a former USA boxing coach and current certified CrossFit trainer with twenty years of experience in the fitness industry and an equal amount of time spent battling sugar addiction, I'll share discoveries from my own experience. The Sugar Demons covers my entire journey from realizing I have an addiction, to the "Ah-ha!" moments that put me back in control of my life.
Listeners will learn the key breakthrough that gave me the edge I needed in my battle with addiction, my step-by-step plan for breaking sugar addiction, how I reduce cravings until they are silent, why "discipline" and "willpower" are ineffective strategies, a list of supplements to "hack" your body out of its dependence on sugar, meal prep advice, and how to control your food environment so it doesn't control you.

The author takes what is usually a dry, heavily fact filled topic in other books and intriguingly makes what is a very difficult job (for the majority of people) of quitting eating sugary foods into a more pleasant experience.
I have totally disregarded the few unkind reviews about this book that I have read.
Frankly, these negative reviews come across to me as written by judgmental snobs that know nothing about actually kicking an addictive habit while creating new habits that are research proven to enable people in having long term success.
Different strategies are described, many with a fun game themes, that support creating new healthier habits by pairing them with activities that trigger the release of dopamine and/or serotonin.
There is a science to why playing games are fun and can be addictive.
That same science can be applied for beneficial changes as well.
As a lifelong periodic relapsing sugar addict, I am glad I discovered this book.
I have practiced most of the author's suggestions and have found that they quickly assisted my weaning off sugar while I built new habits and a mindset to neutralize my sugar cravings.
