About this listen

Beyond the third floor!

When Morgan got hit by a car and died on Earth, he never imagined that he would be chosen by a god, little g, to be taken to another planet - a World governed by game-like rules. Especially since said god liked to have people call him the Great Lord, and had basically created an entire World to run experiments in. Nor could Morgan have ever imagined that he would find one thing that he had never really had on Earth: a real family.

It's been years since Morgan started his second chance at life on that world, and both he and his friends have achieved great power as part of a Great Raid: a group of people bent on climbing beyond the third floor of the Tower of Power, to the floors from which no one has ever before returned.

They had lost friends in their climb, but who remain share the same drive to be the first to pass the Great Lord's test. But there are dangers in the Tower beyond what they could even imagine...and not all of them even belong there.

Their raid group will need both luck and cunning if they are to survive all that the Tower can throw at them. But, in the end, only one thing is certain - no matter what, all of them will need to pay the Tower's price.

This book is more of what I had hoped the last book would be. The story gets moving along pretty well. Lots of important characters are introduced, progressing the story involving the MC's father, the overarching world, the reason for the tower's existence is finally revealed in great detail, the enemy is shown and fought to an extent - a lot happens - and terrible consequences are wrought making the steaks higher than the other books. Overall, it's a good progression. I would have liked to have seen the MC deal a bit more with the trauma of the things that happened, but that is pretty common with these types of stories so I can't be too upset. The narrator, as usual, does a good job. He can be a little bit monotone at times, but nothing out of the usual compared to the rest of the books (and way better than many other litRPG books that I've run into). I'll keep reading the series and I'm pretty excited to see what the MC does in the next book.

The way this book started and the beginning chapters had me so down like damn man but as I keep listening I started to love this series again and look forward to the final book of the series even more!

Damn almost had me!

These stories are really fleshed out without being monotonous. For me, the narrator has all the right energy and voice inflection even for the parts where we’re getting updates on stats. I thought it’d get old and I’m grateful it hasn’t because eventually the characters get fun new things.

Love this series & narrator

I've been saying with every review of the books in this series that the story fails to go very deep in maximizing the situations and world built (which is an excellent world) and subsequently feels like a very surface level story. I've stuck with the series for two reasons 1. Ivan Kal is an excellent author and I've enjoyed his Infinite Realms series 2. To see what the mystery and payoff is once the characters conquer the tower and unlock their power. I have mixed feelings as the world beyond the tower is in fact very interesting and a good payoff. However, the unlocking of final levels felt like a bland delivery and ultimately was not that exciting or impressive. There is one more book to go, so maybe something that can made of the new levels, but I'm not really holding my breathe here as most other litRPG authors deliver the level of quality needed for a story like this in 15+ hours, which no book in the series has come close to meeting.

What a great book. It started little slow but surely came out to be a great ride. The price of power is high some make it some not. Was a great addition to the series.

Price of power is high

I haven't been the biggest fan of this series. the writing just hasn't been as good as the infinite realm series. at least not until this one. the payoff for sticking with the series so far has been worth it. already started the next book as I'm writing this

this is the story I was waiting for
