About this listen

Stranded in distant lands, Hal finds himself in a scorching desert of dark sands ruled by a tyrant and a mechanical army after any Founder's head.

Hal's triumph over the Tower of Blight should have left his settlement of Brightsong stronger than ever. Instead, it left them without a leader, and their strongest members were sent halfway across the world.

Trading frigid cold for unrelenting heat, the Dunes of Midnight are no less vicious than the Shiverglades. Beastmen attack the outskirts of civilization while the Adventurer's Guild falls to ruins.

Wanting nothing more than to return home before the tribes of the Shiverglades arrive on Brightsong's doorstep, Hal seeks answers in the metropolis of Dalmanii. Before he can even get his bearings, a sudden betrayal places him at the center of a plot brewing in the heart of the city.

His only way out is to navigate the ever-shifting alliances and shady dealings between the Guilds of Dalmanii. Hal and his friends will have to fight assassins, thieves, mages, thugs, and even the city's automaton peacekeepers if they want to see Brightsong again.

shorter and shorter

I enjoyed the story in this one, but it honestly only felt partway finished

when the series started the audiobooks were almost 30hrs long. The books keep getting shorter and shorter until now we have this latest installment which is only half as long as the original.

I'm willing to wait a little longer if it means that I get the full book, and not this half-book

These books are so great, not enough reviews

I love these books. But it never seems to have enough reviews for how good they are. The character building and evolution, the stats and skill development. The multiple story lines just waiting to join back together. Most definitely worth the credit!!!

Stop shitting on Hals life please

I love your stories, your characters all of it, but how did it take Hal so damn long to realize his luck is shit? He needs to take care of his home lol

starting to feel repetitive

I like the story and the characters but it's following the same pattern as most other lit RPGs and adding new story lines for no reason until you kind of forget about or stop caring about the old ones.

amazing world lore expansion

The book was great. it didn't have the filler arc energy the tower did. it expanded the world all while tying other parts together. it is very peices on a chest board feel. loves it. I know it's a weird thing to look forward too but the detail was sooo consistent that I am excited for the contracts made by the previous leader with the loan money to up for grabs again now that the false adventures are gone. a nice large injection into self sufficiency. It talks volumes about the book that I care this much about a side quest endeavor. I can't wait for our boy to be able to teleport and become a merchant power in his own right

I need more great book to the series. The new adventure in new lands was excellent and different. Thank you for the side quest.

Love this series but...

I absolutely adore these books but this one feels kind of like it didn't really go anywhere. A whole lot of sitting around and going over stats in the beginning which I can understand a refresher from the last book. Was just kind of hoping for more of the story to be pushed forward and instead got an interesting side quest and World expansion.

It's just a side story

I really enjoyed this series, but this book has just been a side quest. and a filler book
I'm hoping the next one will be better

Good

Well written and thoughtful story. I love how other aspects from other books in this universe are referenced.
