Informative

I like the direct and logical delivery. the author applies his logic and planning to everyday scenarios, instead of just telling you what you should do or shouting snappy one liners. it was a very good and systematic way of laying out ways to say NO. would reccomend to push overs and guilt trippers alike.

Validating

Didn’t hear anything “new,” but as someone who grew up in a codependent family, it was validating to hear all the things i know to be true that i get gaslit for. But I’ve done a lot of therapy. If you haven’t reached this point in your life and still feel “obligated” to others, this is probably a must read.

Wonderful.

As a recovering people pleaser, I routinely found myself sacrificing time, money, and energy to help anyone who’d ask.
Fact was, everyone knew me as a welcome mat, and had little respect.
In standing up for myself with tact, I’ve regained control of my life and schedule, keeping those real friends around who knew I could do it.
I also recommend Never Split the Difference, by Chris Voss, and The Go-Giver series, by Bob Burg.
These books have been invaluable to me, as a real estate agent and recipient of multiple awkward offers.
