Publisher's summary
Using principles from cognitive psychology, Nick Kolenda developed a unique way to subconsciously influence people's thoughts. He developed a "mind reading" stage show depicting that phenomenon, and his demonstrations have been seen by over a million people across the globe.
Methods of Persuasion reveals that secret for the first time. You'll learn how to use those principles to influence people's thoughts in your own life.
Drawing from academic research in psychology, the entire book culminates a powerful 7-step persuasion process that follows the acronym, METHODS:
- Step 1: Mold Their Perception
- Step 2: Elicit Congruent Attitudes
- Step 3: Trigger Social Pressure
- Step 4: Habituate Your Message
- Step 5: Optimize Your Message
- Step 6: Drive Their Momentum
- Step 7: Sustain Their Compliance
This book teaches you the psychology behind each step. You'll learn how to apply METHODS to your own life so that you can influence people's thoughts, emotions, and behavior in nearly any situation.

Story
I know my own mind. I am able to assess others in a fair and accurate way. These self-perceptions are challenged by leading psychologists Mahzarin R. Banaji and Anthony G. Greenwald as they explore the hidden biases we all carry from a lifetime of exposure to cultural attitudes about age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, social class, sexuality, disability status, and nationality. Blindspot is the authors’ metaphor for the portion of the mind that houses hidden biases.

It’s commitment. Busting the myths most of us believe about commitment, Reeder shows that it all comes down to four variables.

Helpful and to the point
This book wastes no time with pseudoscientific preamble about auras and energy levels. I appreciate the research and availability of citations and although I was persuaded by the ending remarks to submit a review, I’m not upset about that at all. I want people to know that this book presents information in a way that is uncommon in today’s society. An expert sharing their knowledge and someone who has the wherewithal to point out gaps in mine and their understanding. That’s unique in my opinion, I may be attributing my level of satisfaction heuristically because I finished the book but I don’t even care. I recommend this to anyone who is tired of the swill that is usually available on this topic, great job Nick.

Psychology to Influence Human Behavior
Wow! This was a good replica of influence and I was not at all disappointed. The narrator or the author’s writing style was very good listening to.
I listened to it first and then re-listened to it again. All I can now do is to share the good testimony.
The narrator reached somewhere and read as it was written of course, I entreat you to skip the chapter and said, I told you to skip and you are still here.
Surely, I smile gently for being recalcitrant and he actually explained the reason I kept listening instead of skip to another chapter.
You know why I’m not going spell it out for you? Because I want you to get your own copy and enjoy that humane touch. The book was in a style as if he was in front me and I sat there and he was explaining things to me in a step by step form.
Awesome!
I envy you. I am also an author, but I kept asking myself this question when am I going to write my next book to be a very captivating book like this one?
Only God knows.
Do you want me to tell you to get your own? Hmmm. You, yourself. There are things that don’t need cajoling or begging for you to make a decision. It’s a very good book.
Surely it will be a blessing to you as it were a blessing to me after listening to it more than twice.
Pick your copy.

one of the best easy reads on the topic
loved this book. I've read extensively on the topic before finally reading this book. I wish this could have been one of my very first reads on the subject because it's one of the most accessible and informative books on the psychology of persuasion. Kudos to Mr. Kolenda on threading the needle masterfully between provide an actionable and substantive dive into the subject while managing to keep the material light enough to make this read genuinely enjoyable. He presents the science just deep enough to allow the reader a beginning understanding of the research behind his points. But unlike many other books I've read on persuasion he deftly employs the science towards an actionable comprehension for his reader. This book doesn't gloss over the research nor does it allow itself to get bogged down by it. So far this is on my short list of favorite persuasion books I have read. I reccomend this to any reader outside those in the field as a must read. I'm buying copies for my sales team on my own dime as a reflection of the value I found in this book.

Brilliant
Nick Kolenda is amazing, he explains everything I also suggest buying the book for quick reference. So much information and I pray he comes out with another book soon.
There is a ton of information on his website as well which goes a lot deeper.
You won’t be disappointed
