Publisher's summary

Food is almost plentiful. Round one is coming to an egg-citing end. Watch out for that double cross.

Nacho and the Chips Guild are expanding rapidly, both in membership as well as reclaiming land for their burgeoning city. The presence of a cook allows people to gather in large numbers without fear of starving to death, though the reluctant Guild Leader knows better than to let people get too comfortable. Careful management of people has never been his forte, but luckily he has surrounded himself with people who can get that job done as he focuses on learning to craft proper meals.

As Nacho begins to find a sense of peace in his life, he is suddenly thrust into a new battle when the CruxTerrans launch a surprise attack. They seize several of Nacho's closest friends and use them to unlock a hidden portal that will determine the fate of Earth as well as CruxTerra. The Guild Leader and his adversaries are thrust into a daunting challenge that neither side is prepared for, testing their abilities...and especially their willpower.

The endgame is in view, and starvation is on the table.

Had to finish in a day!

I could not go to bed until I finished the book. There is no way I could have been able to go to bed with the tantalizing twists and I am not referring to doughnuts.

The best omelet ever

Delightfully delicious and witty! Adventure, humor, and creative combat all rolled into one scrumptious burrito.

Fun end? to a fun series!

finale the Victor is crowned! One side defeats the other and the losing side can expect to be wiped out! Fun story in a horrible game world! We now know who wins... round 1! Hope fully there will be more books in this world covering round 2 and beyond!

A great story, full of dynamic characters, with a unique setting full or humor

I’m new to the LitRPG game and this is a great introduction. I would highly recommend this to anyone potentially interested in the genre - for parents scanning reviews, I would say this is appropriate for high school age or up. Like the title states, I am impressed with the author’s creativity, lack of predictability, and overall story creation. I got hooked on the series midway through book one, and I consumed books two and three as fast as possible - even losing sleep to continue listening. The humor is constant and multi leveled. Highly recommend this. Slight spoilers below for elaboration on previous.

Parents, concerning themes include cursing, dark humor, and imminent human mortality. Do not worry about sexual themes. There is minimal sexual content: minor innuendos two to three times.

meh

felt rush and never really got interesting the way the first two did...
no real character growth...
new characters newer really had a place and generally could have been without without the book loosing anything...

I'd have quite the series after this one regardless, so good on Dakota for finishing it...
too bad the finish was so friggin' lackluster

The perfect way to wrap a trilogy

Omelet Endgame

Live in the Juxtaposition is looking better. The guild situation has been resolved and it seems that Nacho and the Chips can get back to preparing for the future. Nacho has a handle on some of his cooking. Not so much with some other recipes. That was when the Cross humans made the first move.

This dark litrpg still keeps it fun with Dakota’s punny humor. There were some great small adventures before the main story kicks in. The main characters are the life blood of the series, but all of the other characters are fantastic as well. Another character is introduced and I just wish we could have had more time with them. I do hope Dakota revisits this IP. There are so many stories that could be told here. Andrews does a great job with narration.

Content Warning: cannibalism
