Publisher's summary

In Body on Fire (a newly updated revision of Finding Balance) Drs. Monica Aggarwal and Jyothi Rao help listeners make an honest assessment of their energy, lifestyle, dietary habits, and mental state and provide a series of interventions for reclaiming health. They present in-depth explanations of the dangers of stressors on the body such as sedentary lifestyles, poor diet, and poor sleep habits.

Inflammation is the body’s natural response to injury or illness, but long-term inflammation can silently turn on us, becoming a danger to our health. This guide explains how chronic inflammation damages cells and can lead to asthma, cancer, diabetes, heart disease, rheumatoid arthritis, and even Alzheimer’s disease. Fortunately, there are natural solutions to keep chronic inflammation in check.

Our food choices can make a crucial difference. Learn how to design an anti-inflammatory diet based on health-protective plant-based foods with high concentrations of phytochemicals and other essential inflammation-fighting nutrients. Tools are provided to improve sleep habits, increase activity levels, and achieve adequate hydration. Techniques to increase the mind-body connection are discussed, the benefits of intermittent fasting are covered, and the importance of the microbiome and the impact of the gut on overall health is explored. Then enjoy a few delicious, easy-to-prepare recipes that reveal how to incorporate a wide variety of these power-packed foods into everyday dishes.

Each chapter includes recommendations and action steps. This book is a prescription for restorative health and a roadmap to a stronger, healthier, more vital state of being.

Good Basic Information!

I became a Chiropractor at the age of 50 and before that I was a personal trainer, athlete and fitness instructor for over 30 years. Health and fitness has always been my passion and I have spent the great majority of my life studying health and rehabilitation related issues. I enjoyed listening to this content because it was very well written, informative and pleasant to listen to. I think it would be a good starting point for some basic nutritional knowledge and lifestyle choices and I think it’s a good sign that medical doctors are starting to realize the importance of the knowledge of nutrition and life style habits to improving general health outcomes. Although the authors of this book, both medical doctors, are starting to look at health through a different point of view ( a holistic one), they are still biased towards there medical perspectives.

Very basic

Definitely could be helpful for people just starting out on their healing journey. For somebody who’s been on this path a while now, this book presents nothing new.
